True Confessions

Ever since I started blogging in September 2008, I have used the above photo as my profile icon. Although everything on my blog is true, I do blog anonymously. So I needed a photo that did not reveal my identity.

But now it's true confessions time . . . yes, I confess . . . I confess . . . those are not even my hands, much less my gloves. I simply chose the photo off the internet because I liked the purple Celtic cable-stitch fingerless gloves. And I do still intend to keep this photo as my icon because I identify with it now.

Recently, however, I purchased my own pair of green Celtic cable-stitch fingerless gloves to wear in the Spring and Fall. So ta da! Here's a photo of my real hands wearing them!

I love the pewter Celtic knot accent buttons too -- aren't they a nice touch? These beautiful gloves were handcrafted by Sarah Sullivan, whose great blog called Cottage Garden Studios is found here and whose wonderful Etsy shop is found here. I encourage everyone to check out both sites!

If you changed the photo to your own hands I'm sure we'd all still know it was you!!! Love the fingerless gloves.

I would love to find a pattern for those purple mitts.....they are really a nice challenge for my knitting brain after way too many socks! (and the last pair, off the needles last night, looked good OFF, but on, I look like a cow with legwarmers....)

You fraud! rofl And what a Diva! Just HAD to use a hand double!! LOL

Jokes aside, you've got beautiful hands, and yes, they are adorned beautifully by Sarah's knitting! She creates magic with needles & yarn, and you can feel the love that is woven into every stitch.

You deserve the very best, and Sarah's gloves needed a home where they are loved and appreciated. A perfect match!

(and yes, keep your hand-double avatar. .they are internationally associated to you now! lol)

Well, you know I blog anonymously too and the only photos I have on my blog are of me from the back (yikes, I know right!), my feet in beach sand and my tattoos.

That's okay, I like all four gloved hands. Your hands look better and the fingerless gloves are so fun. Thanks for sharing your true identity, it does make a finger licking difference. tee hee.

And there I was checking out everyone's hands every time I went out in public, trying to identify you! Ha!
I love both pairs of gloves. I may have to try knitting myself a pair for next year.

Oh, gorgeous green knittie hand booties! and hey, most people don't use their own photo for their blog, I just say your banner as a symbol for you seeking. Love your Celtic gloves though...I just might have to buy myself a pair, but I promise I won't use it for my blog banner ; )

I love the new gloves, and that button rocks. I've been thinking I need some fingerless gloves. This might just push me over the edge...

I love both sets of gloves and it's making my knitting fingers itch to get busy on more fingerless gloves or mitts.

I love your Celtic gloves with the added button. I wear fingerless gloves a lot, and have even taken to wearing toeless socks. Now that one is a bit eccentric...

. . . and look at that: your real fingers aren't blue! I do dig those gloves, too; the buttons are pretty neat. Nice hands -- ever have anyone read them?

no matter how you come to the table, what matters is that you come and you have something to say.
Like the new gloves too.

Hi Makropoulos -- No, I've never had my palms read. I'm scared the reader will tell me I have a short life line.
