Actual Deep Thoughts

Unlike my last goofy post, this one contains some real gems of serious thought and opinion with which I largely agree. I hope at least some of them resonate with you and your life as well!

I like the master/beginner one especially. And anything with a dog in. And perhaps that's why i'm not successful: I am no good at managing my life.

Interesting.

so many of these (like gandhi) could be applied to our deplorables in the government and elsewhere in this country today.

They are all amazing and I feel a better person for just having read them, thank you for that; wow, my gosh that was a great way to start my day , Thanks Debra!

So many good ones here. The first and last spoke to me most.

I'm trying to find the one I like the best but it's all of them.

OMG, friend D … what a wealth of awesome, awesome sayings you have presented here! Thank you so much for sharing! … and in order to change the subject … how do you like the snow? … smiles … Much love, cat.

I usually find sayings very trite and sentimental but you have found some that really ring true and wise: I am learning every day that growing older is a privilege denied to many - and being damaged over the years, I am now looking for gold in the healed areas.

There are so many good quotes here, I can't choose just one. I do, however, often think of not regretting getting older. Despite the aches and pains, I am truly blessed.

I too love the quote about getting older. It is so true as are many of these. Thank you for the morning inspiration.

This is beautiful. I didn't believe you when you said "Actual Deep Thoughts," but you meant it.

I'm going to requote "The less people know..." So true and well said.

Have a great weekend, Debra.

Thank you, Debra. These were uplifting!

A great set of quotes. A couple of them really spoke to me and more than one made me want to forward them on to some people who need a reminder. lol

Susan Kane said...

I nodded at each one, saying Yup. Like Jenn, There are people I'd like to whom I'd forward these.

I like all of these but the one where the Japanese mend broken things with gold, I kept looking at that one. I think it is because I really love the look of that piece. Find one and send it to me, would you? Thanks, you Canadians you are the best!

Beautiful, Debra. I am really touched by several of the...but the last one is really a heart-clencher for me.

Love all the quotes, especially the Gandhi one... which I feel true all the way to my not-so-wonderful bones.

The one about beginners and masters is a lesson that has been coming across my path multiple times this week.

What enjoyment to read all of those quotes and realize that each and every one speaks volumes All we have to do is really listen.

I like the Knowledge Experience drawing. Being able to connect various knowledge takes experience.
"The less people know, the more stubbornly they know it." - wow that one fits our current time very well.
The last one is a good one to end on.

"The less people know..." That one fits most of my extended family.

I like them all...the No Wifi in the Forest might be my favorite.
So glad you liked the biscuits...and thanks for letting me know. They are quick, easy and taste so good.

My favourite is "Do not regret growing older" - because I do, but now I realise just how fortunate I am.

Nice to see Vonnegut, Chaplin, Gandhi, three heroes of mine, in the same batch of quotes.

Honorable mentions to Didion and Douglass.

ooh, these were all wise sayings, but I especially loved the one about the master and the beginner, and the better connection in the forest, and the privilege of getting old. The alternative doesn't appeal.

These are wonderful statements to remember. I like growing older. It feels good to become wiser and have the ability to simplify life easier. The last one is a perfect ending to all this inspiration!

I’ve seen the master vs beginner meme on a Krav Maga webpage.
