For this week's Friday Face OFF link party
of art featuring faces, hosted by Nicole of
DVArtist, Art, Food, Gardening blog . . .
Another assignment completed for
my "Portraits in Coloured Pencils" class.
This one was a lot of fun to do
except for those dreads, which
were hard to capture. Plus the hands --
hands are always hellishly hard, I think.
Luckily, our eyes here are
immediately pulled away
to that cute little goat!

You are really talented Debra 👍Love these cuties, both the girl and goat 🥰
ReplyDeleteWising a happy Easter time to you 🐣🌷😊
Stunning work Debra.
ReplyDelete...my hats off to you for this gorgeous drawing.
ReplyDeleteYou captured such a sweet face, Debra, and I love the shirt!
ReplyDeleteVery cool!
ReplyDeleteLove the coloring, also!
XOXO
Glorious!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet this picture is - I think you captured her expression wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteLove it; love both their adorable faces.
ReplyDeleteI love to see your wonderful art.
ReplyDeleteMarie is right - you captured a sweetness in that face...and a joy in the eyes.
ReplyDeleteOh, don't shortchange yourself! The child is as cute as the goat--if not for the same reason.
ReplyDeleteomgosh hands are hard, and that hair! good for you it's gorgeous. Very impressed. My artist friend Rose said drawing it the hardest because every mark must be intentional. I want to draw better and capture subtle shadows. LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteBeautiful drawing of the girl and her goat.
ReplyDeleteDebra this drawing is incredible. You have so much talent. I'm so impressed.

🤘 No, Debra, you captured those dreads! Dreads have lots of variety and a young child having soft, easy-draping dreads is perfect! Both faces are cute and the eyes are wonderful, but I notice that goat has some imp gonna happen...and that's wonderful, too! 👏🫶
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done, Debra!

ReplyDeleteLove this!! I don't think I have ever attempted hands..not eager to do so..I don't do faces either..Great job!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend...
Another beautiful work, Debra!
ReplyDelete****ing brilliant Debra! Well done.
ReplyDeleteIt's good Debs! But if it's really challenging maybe next time you should pick a bald kid!
ReplyDelete@ Mistress Maddie -- Hahahahaha, don't think that thought hasn't crossed my mind. But the instructor always picks photos of people with lots of hair or wearing big hats that take even more work!
DeleteAmazing and beautiful work! Well done, Debra.
ReplyDeleteHi Debra, Ditto to all the above remarks.

i LOVE this one. and you are really really good at these. the hands are just fine.
ReplyDeleteLove the way she's holding her new friend!
ReplyDeleteYour art is something to look forward to every week
ReplyDeleteWow Debra. This is an amazing drawing, all of it.
ReplyDeleteOK, the goat is cute but Debra, that child is exceptional. I mean this is the best I have seen from you. It is quite difficult to make a child look like a child. One line in the wrong place and the face gets older. You have capture the child's innocents. Not to mention the perfect shading, the interest in her eyes, the slight smile and of course her hair. This is just a stunning piece of art. Thank you for sharing it with FFO.
ReplyDeleteYou've done an excellent job.
ReplyDeleteI love the art series! Thank you for sharing your astounding ability with us. It's always a pleasure to see what you have been working on, and this one is no exception.
