I Don't Drink, But Some Days I Wish I Did

  1. I would make a lousy drunk as I get sick and not happy. Hubby and I occasionally share a beer. Once in a while a half glass of wine. On a rare occasion he’ll make himself a martini glass of gin with a few olives. But yes, there are times when I wish I could indulge and party happily.

  5. The little one drinking is priceless! I’ve seen those precious moments and will always remember them.

  6. So the truth is that "She Who Seeks" does not seek pubs or bars or the alcohol sections in supermarkets? That's obviously okay because alcohol has caused so many bad issues for humans from health to behaviour.

    1. @ Yorkshire Pudding -- That's right. If I have one drink per year, that's a lot for me. And that one drink is usually an eggnog 'n rum at Christmas, or maybe an occasional Black Russian or Moscow Mule if I'm on holiday somewhere. I gave up even social drinking when I became a diabetic. Any form of alcohol turns to pure sugar in the bloodstream.

  7. One of my old friends was of the multiple martinis persuasion until his doctor insisted two must be the limit. Then he made two giant martinis..
I haven't had my favorite prosecco for years, since a medication issue. It was fun, but I don't really miss it.

  9. I must confess: I had a heavy shopping day and I bought a bottle of red wine and just drank a glass πŸ·πŸ˜†

  14. I quit drinking alcohol 30 years ago and have never missed it.

  15. I wish I drank more. I'm like 1 drink every two months, at most, but some days I wouldn't mind getting drunk. I loathe hangovers though and the last time I was that drunk was 31 years ago:)

  16. That last one sums me up! I don’t drink anymore (because I’m not allowed). It really pisses me off. I stopped binging a long, long time ago. I now miss that pleasant little buzz I would feel after only a few sips.

  17. It worked so well for Dino, but that's because I think he faked it much of the time.

  18. Awe booze - I love it but as I get older I drink less and less because after all, it is just poison. Yet I feel sad because I really enjoy a booze fueled socializing. Which is worse? Booze or loneliness?

  19. I drink very little. One could classify me as a tea toddler, or even coffee toddler.

  20. Love these! Snagged several! Dino!!

  21. OMG! How did you find my Gin Signal?

  22. I've quit the drink as well. Good thing, because if I tried to numb this current reality I'd be drunk for at least 4 years...

  23. Isn't that first one Maddie's call sign?!

  29. Oh lordy...drinking?!?! I try not too!

I enjoy one gin martini. Two at the most. Three I'm under the table. And four I'm under my host.

  33. Good one, Dino! Especially when my children were little I would often say, "I wish that I drank because I could do with a drink now!"
