  2. I like queer; it used to have a derogatory tone and we've taken it back.
Besides, I AM weird. And gay. So ... queer.

  3. Queer is so normal. We are all unique, and that is normal.

  4. Queer isn’t negative any more but normal!

  6. The LGBT sandwich could do with a little quinoa on the side or maybe some quince.

  7. El Jibbity Kia.
I never used to feel comfortable with the word queer but over the last 10 years I’ve embraced it.

  8. Call me old old fashioned but "GAY" used to be all-inclusive.
Or we can get with the times and use: QUILTBAG:
Queer/Questioning, Undecided, Intersex, Lesbian, Trans (Transgender/Transexual), Bisexual, Asexual, and/or Gay. But that leaves out Pan-sexuals and Incels and heterosexuals too.

    1. @ Frank -- Yes, "gay" started off as a generic term but unfortunately, gay men made it clear that only their interests and concerns mattered in the community, so that's when everyone else realized it could not truly be an inclusive term.

Thanks for teaching me what "Quilt Bag" means! There's a queer store here in Edmonton called "The Quilt Bag" and I always wondered why it was called that -- d'oh!

    1. @ Tundra Bunny -- I like queso! And "toasted" bread? Hmmm, that supports a couple of different interpretations, LOL.

  18. While I use "LGBT" more in my writing than "queer", I prefer the latter. To my ears it sounds strangely sexy. But there's still a few people out there who get offended by it, so I more often than not opt for the initials.

  19. El Jibbity? No diggity!
I love the term Queer. It covers absolutely everyone. Sometimes LGBTetc seems more socially acceptable.
