  2. Yes, sickening and horrifying. What do we do?

    1. @ Moving with Mitchell -- As individuals, all we can do is speak out against this tsunami of hate. Stopping it takes collective action and there must be the political will to do that, with all the consequences it entails.

  3. All because they didn't want a woman president telling them what they can and cannot do.

  4. Hello Debra, Did you take a look at Hels' blog today?

I am so saddened that people in supposedly free countries keep coming up with these same evil ideas.

    1. @ Parnassus (Jim) -- "Evil ideas" sums it up exactly. History is crammed with lessons about where these ideas lead, but do we learn? No. The only lesson which seems to repeat is how easy it is to manipulate people using hate.

  5. Debra, you are so right about speaking out. I, too, called it Alligator Alcatraz, but will now call it what it is: a concentration camp. And I will correct anyone who says otherwise.
    A racist bigoted concentration camp.
    Excellent post!

  6. I was thinking the same thing yesterday, he's building concentration camps.

  7. As an American I do not support this or him. Please know that the most racist among us are the noisiest. As a former ESL teacher I'm saddened to think about my former students living in fear.

  9. How anyone can equate unlawful border crossing or overstaying a visa with burglary, trafficking, rape, or murder, is beyond me. Why would anyone think that separating a child from its parent(s) is an acceptable solution to border jumping? How "powerless" in your life must you feel to have these acts of cruelty make you believe you are "empowered"?

  10. Preach!
It IS a concentration camp. Mango Mussolini is doing ethnic cleansing in the Untied States. And people just sit there....

    XOXO

  11. Speaking truth in Memes. I am so ashamed of my country. This is NOT what I spent 9+ years in the military to accomplish.

🤬🤬 It didn't take any time at all to "build" the Florida concentration camp...all they needed was theft, corruption, cruelty, and a dream!! Not exactly as lofty as "we will put a man on the moon in this decade!"
The media has been forced (bamboozled) into calling it "Alligator Alcatraz" because that IS its official name...the signage is already up at the entrance and on roadways leading to the area!!
It's not a serious attempt by serious people to solve a problem; it's another episode of the Trump administration TV show; it's "bread and circuses" and it isn't a sitcom! It will hurt the alligators and other local wildlife. It will hurt anyone stationed there as a guard. It will drain FEMA and other important sources of funds. And, it will within a few months kill many of the detainees (convicted of nothing!) who have been sent there! The entire area below the airstrip tarmac where the NON-buildings sit has already flooded in the rain and hurricane season has barely started! The structures (spit and chickenwire) on the tarmac will disappear completely when hit by even a medium-sized storm! There is NO evacuation plan for the detainees (convicted of nothing!)!! [The only reasonable evacuation plan in that spot is to have large buses always maintained, gassed-up, and ready to go. I doubt that will happen.]
So, any good storm will see the detainees (CONVICTED OF NOTHING!), many of the guards, all the "structures" and a shitload of money gone after only existing for a few months!! But, it was a fun TV show while it lasted!! 🤬🤬

  15. All of these hit home with me, but especially the Ronald Klain one. If this isn't stopped, anyone who annoys the administration could be sent away.

  16. It's horrifying. Alligator Auschwitz is accurate.
I would buy and fly that flag. This poor country is suffering. FAFO indeed.
