Augtober's Here!

I've heard of the concept of "Summerween" before,
but I just learned a new word over at blogging buddy
Jamie Ghione's blog Whatever I Think Of! --

* AUGTOBER *

And I can relate, because who
doesn't want Halloween
to come earlier?

So who's with me?

I know some of you are, anyway!

  1. I don't like summer, either. But, I'm trying to not wish the days away too fast. That's happening all on its own. The only thing about Halloween that I like is the cooler temps and candy, definitely the candy! :)

  2. I don’t really enjoy summer in New Mexico. Summer is when hubby and I get to the beach in California for a couple of weeks in September. October, meh.

  3. I hate Halloween but bring on the cool weather! Now.

  4. It’s cool here this morning. Feels like Hallowe’en weather!

  5. Well I at least wouldn’t mind the weather in October!

  6. Count me out. Soon we'll be having Aug-giving followed by Septmas and NovYearsDay.
    Nope.

  7. Not me. I LOVE Halloween but will wait it out, I like summer to last.

I think winter is the one that never knows when to go. She is like the last one at a party you just can't get to go home.

  8. Thanks for the shout out! And I agree about what Bob said.

  9. Summer is here for another month, but you can get freaky and spooky anytime.

  10. Hahahaha
You're like my gurl Jennifer: she already started getting her house in the Halloween mood. It goes all the way to xmas. I'm looking forward to her Halloween themed tree!

    XOXO

  11. Because we live in a secured building there are no trick or treaters, and I've pretty much stepped back from Halloween. I do enjoy late October weather, though.

  12. I have to be whether I want to or not. I'm working in retail these days, and there's all kind of Halloween stuff coming into the store.

  13. Bring it on. But can we keep the warm weather so I can keep skinny dipping???

  14. I have, in fact, been waiting for Halloween since last Halloween, LOL.

  15. I am so over Summer, but Halloween is just too close to the depths of Winter in these parts. Not yet ready for sweatshirt and flannel weather. Loves me's Autumn!

  16. 🀣 I was ready to join the fun of wishing for October and hating the "dog days of summer" when everybody just wants the heat to end and gets lethargic about things like the news and what King Donald 🀒🀬 is doing to the country! BUT, the news just gets uglier every day!!
Trump announced the Presidential Physical Fitness Standards and Tests!! 🀣 Why wasn't he laughed out of town? Why didn't everybody scream "you first, Tub-O-Lardo?!" I remember when Presidential Fitness meant something ...I hated it 'cause I was a fat kid, but it was a true effort. And, at least we had Robert Preston singing the theme song "Go You Chicken Fat, Go!"* I want that blasting at Trump's (aka "Chicken Fat") WH on a continuous loop!! But, there is nothing funny about the membership on Trump's fitness commission. One is KC Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker who wants women fit enough to be pregnant and chained to the stove. One member is NY Giants legend Lawrence Taylor who wants girls to be fit enough that he can hire them to be underage prostitutes! 🀬
AND, Taylor is not the only registered sex offender to get a "promotion" from Sex-Offender-in-Chief Trump this week. On her way to a Presidential pardon and rewrite of history, Ghislaine Maxwell has been moved from a real prison for child rapists in Florida. Now, she is housed in Federal Prison CAMP Bryan near Houston, TX!! This minimum security Club-Med for women usually houses financial and nonviolent criminals (like weird Elizabeth Holmes who scammed people with her non-existent medical test breakthrough). It is not appropriate for a pimp/child rapist!!
πŸͺ΄πŸŒ³πŸŒΊπŸŒΉ What a lovely transition home for a child trafficker to begin her new life!! 🀬🀬 Stay vigilant my friends!! 🀬🀬

  17. I saw Halloween stuff at Winners a couple of weeks ago. Already!
I don't like the heat, but I want enough time for my tomatoes to ripen:)

  18. My flying monkeys and killer rabbits are always ready to go, but I'm hoping for a pleasant, cool autumn before the Halloween snows arrive!

  19. Hello Debra, It's fun to anticipate and plan for Halloween (or any other occasion, for that matter), but these events need a focal point (i.e., the actual day) in order to make sense and have perspective. Still, I believe in having at least a little Halloween at hand all year long.

As for summers, I used to relish the longer days and mostly pleasant weather, but in Taiwan summer is just like turning an oven on for six months. An oven that rains almost every day.

  20. You know I'm with you. Goodbye Summer. You can suck it. Bring on fall! Bring on the autumnal joy. August is the kickoff to the three month Halloween celebration! Though this year I did Summerween. Heck, I'm Halloween all the time. And every other holiday can suck it. Twice.

  21. The weather sure feels right for Halloween. I say bring it on!

  22. I do enjoy fall as much as I enjoy spring...and winter. But I did and do have a blast with Halloween decorations and fun. We don't have trick or treat kids but I enjoy growing pumpkins to give out to neighbors.
    Hot girl summer is over...
    yeah...

  23. Very nice. Yeah Halloween never leaves my house.

  24. I am thinking I would like that witch's outfit at the beach. It will scare away people you don't want around and is a great cover up too!

  25. It was 98(f) degrees with a heat index of 110 two days ago here. Today it's 80(f) with no heat index. It's like a different world.

  26. Halloween is indeed something to look forward to

  27. A little too much brain fry to consider Halloween yet.

  28. I've been ready since May.

  29. Damn right! I learned about Augtober recently and it's definitely a thing for me. I was doing it before I knew about it, in fact.
