I texted hubby the other day and told him that someone had kidnapped his grinchy husband and must have replaced him with a clone because he was outside shoveling snow and LISTENING to CHRISTMAS MUSIC playing loudly on the Bose. Happy Holidays Deb!
π Nope. No tree for me! Not for years! The people I know who do put one up talk about it as a chore; not a joy! π¬ Sadz! But, I'm not a total Scrooge. I put up exactly 3 decorations: 1. A yard flag with a cartoonishly happy frog wishing "Merry Christmas!" ππΈ 2. A Hallmark ornament hanging near the front door. It's a "MistleToad!" Smooch! πΈπ 3. I display and play my Christmas frog puppet. It has a battery for sound and when you move its mouth in the right rhythm, it "ribbits" the carol you are trying to play. My best is "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town." πΈπ πΆ
This is the season of heated family debates about tinsel. Whether to hang it carefully strand by strand or just chuck it on in fistfuls. I used to be in trouble, fistful in a strand house.
The Umbrella Tree - LOLOLOL. Yep, pretty spot on. Ours is up --- we're just waiting on delivery of the tree topper: The snowflake one with all the points spelling Fuck and the center spells trump. It'll make the in-laws mad and then maybe they'll leave early!
9 trees for me this year, 7 of them 7-7 1/2 ft. My last effort for my annual Holiday Open House. I become very childlike this time of year, in awe of the colors and the sparkle and the glitter. Getting too old and stiff in all the wrong places to crawl on the roof putting up lights and too cheap to pay someone to do it for me. Debra, all of these are wonderful, I find the saws and chain and the chemistree very creative. You done good gurl! Happy whatever you celebrate or choose not to, to all :-)
Oh, those dirty clothes in the corner. I could do that one. Oddly enough, I just wrote on my blog that is one thing you can always count on: laundry! LOL!
These are wonderful! That umbrella tree and it's celebrants are a mood. Love the drag trees. I haven't put up my very small fake tree yet, but it might happen. I did put my fake wreath and fake poinsettias on the front porch... More important are the strings of sparkle lights.
Hello Debra, Usually I am not a X-mas tree enthusiast, but these are all great. The umbrella one, the woman on the floor, what is she holding? It looks like some kind of frightening medical implement. The one with the lady tossing the ornaments on the tree was so well done it made even me smile. --Jim
@ Parnassus (Jim) -- I can't tell what she's holding, perhaps some kind of weird tongs? Let's hope it's not a speculum, yikes! Nothing merry or jolly about that!
The cat box tree! Yes! Judy does the decorating here. I just went in and counted and we have 8 Christmas trees. But she is a minimalist, in spite of that. The tallest tree is only 18 inches.
@ Catalyst -- You need to put up two more trees to beat out Milleson (see comment above) for the Official 2025 Christmas Spirit Award, I'm afraid! SO CLOSE!
Some brilliant trees. Love the rainbow best I think I don’t mind doing the decorating, it’s the pulling it all down that I dread. I start dreading it as I’m actually decorating lol
In that first picture with the blue and pink tree all the way on the right is my favorite. That is so pretty. I would love to be able to throw all the ornaments on with the lights and be done. lol
Those are FUN. I like that tossing trick too. Thanks for the idea about a place to keep the hot chocolate. Yes! 100% I must have that. Adding it to the list!
Ours is still undressed!
ReplyDeleteI like the cat boxes, that is cool. All are great. My other fav would be the Chemistry Tree!
ReplyDeleteThe umbrella tree!!! Could those three ladies contain their excitement any more? The drag queen trees meme was funny and truth!
ReplyDeleteI texted hubby the other day and told him that someone had kidnapped his grinchy husband and must have replaced him with a clone because he was outside shoveling snow and LISTENING to CHRISTMAS MUSIC playing loudly on the Bose. Happy Holidays Deb!

I like the Chemistree. I should do that one year. I'll start collecting beakers and such and hope homeland security doesn't come after me.
ReplyDeleteI seriously love some of these. I’d do the cat boxes but then I’d have to get 11 more cats.
