Greenland and NATO Win!

Since Arctic Hares have joined the fight
(rallied by blogging buddy Tundra Bunny, no doubt),
it appears to have turned the tide!

Yesterday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland,
Trump made an abrupt about-face, dropping his threats to
invade and take Greenland by force, or to levy more
punishing tariffs on European allies who opposed a sale.

Trump and the Secretary-General of NATO have apparently
now agreed to a “framework of a future deal” on Arctic security.

Regarding Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's
well-received speech on Tuesday,  however,
Trump did complain about how
ungrateful Canada is, LOL!

  1. Mr Carney was immense!
I don't think he'll give up on Greenland though. Just hoping he doesn't invade Iceland while I'm there!

  2. Our idiot cult leader is so full of BS and hot air simultaneously that no one can predict what the hell he will or will not do next. Make the nightmare end. Please.

  8. PM Carney's speech was impeccable. Wish our chancellor wouldn't suck up to the orange menace...

  9. That was a close one. Now, who will be his next victim? I hope the world keeps defending itself and hands him his brainless head on a platter.

    1. @ Jackie McGuinness -- Thanks for the link! I'm glad the proceeds from those jerseys are going to Ottawa Pride Hockey. And Gary Bettman binged the entire series in one sitting? Hahahahahaha!

  13. Not many people picked up on the "Iceland" nonsense, nor did they mention that he was slurring again. Well, at least not down here....

  14. Yay for Carney, telling it like it is.

  15. For whatever reason, some days the ability to keep the horrors that are going on in at least some sort of containment vanish. I am having one of those days and it is not good. Our defenses against panic and sadness and hopelessness do not necessarily come in unlimited supplies unfortunately. And yet, we must go on.

  16. Carney's speech was powerful and will go down in history, go Mark go! As for the, orange babbling baboon's speech, what an embarrassment not only for the US but for the world.

  17. LMAOOO
That Elvis Cankles is way too generous.
And of course Cankles went TACO again. It's what bullies do when they find someone who stands up to them and calls their bullshit.
Cheetoliini wanted Greenland for his Incel Techbros but it was not going to work.
Carney (and some others) TOLD HIM. I'm pleased. That TIME cover needs to happen!

    XOXO

  18. Tellement fier de PM Carney :)
Les États-Unis ont besoin d’un autre FDR, Truman ou JFK, des dirigeants intègres et visionnaires.

  19. I know I don't mean to be dumb but is that a real cover? I love the add of the Canadian ring. Really adds to it!

Thanks about the dough bench. We did the pegboards years ago after seeing Julia Child. LOVE it.

    1. @ The Happy Whisk -- No, I think it's just another goofy meme. And I think the ring is there to identify him to Americans -- Mark Carney is not well-known to the average American.

    1. @ e -- Canadians made the right choice when we elected Carney as prime minister a year ago. I hope he can stay in office for the next few years.

  21. Nice job by your guy! Carney giving a solid speech and then Trump griping about “ungrateful Canada” is such a predictable beat at this point. At least the memes are doing their part to keep the absurdity from feeling completely suffocating. Thanks, Debra.

  22. Like any toddler throwing a tantrum. All you need to do is distract him or self soothe. That’s the tactic they’re trying to use on us

  23. I love Canada more every day. I’m so glad the asshat decided to not attack Iceland, I mean Graceland.

  24. Dear Debra, of course I love the video. My favourite in the illustrations, for the polar bear, is "this is the only ICE worth defending"

  26. I love all the Greenland videos, thye make my heart happy to see people and countries standing up against Trump and his regime. It's a pleasure to hear people like PM Carney speak after listening to the mumbo-jumbo that Trump spouts without even thinking.
