I was at the law school in Baltimore for a workshop on helping homeless veterans, on the lunch break, I took a walk around the block, and there in the corner of a churchyard, I stumbled across Poe's grave. I had no idea it would be there.
This is shameful to can’t recall if I read any work of him but still I feel I have somewhere though unable to remember π I enjoyed all you offered here to know him dear Debra π₯° I will look more definitely π
Dear Debra, these are great. Thank you π so much for sharing. I have always liked Dolly Parton. Not just for her singing, but for her down to earth nature.
π₯³ January 19 is only for the best! ME...1955!! ππΊπΈ π«£ And for the worst! Robert E. Lee...1807!! π€¬ Famous traitor of the US; still revered by today's traitors who claim to be patriots!! [ICE OUT! ] π§ ☄️
Parton is in Tennessee, and Poe ended up in Baltimore, so I guess you could say they were both southerners, though the latter was born in Massachusetts.
Could they be more different?
ReplyDelete...who knew? Obvious you did!
ReplyDeleteINCREDIBLE!!! Love these! R
ReplyDeleteI do love that Christmas card!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've always been intrigued by how he died. A very Poe ending.

ReplyDeletePoor Dollie, she's such a sweet lady who's done so much good with her life. Think she'd probably like not to share a birthday with Poe.
ReplyDeleteJolene!! Dolly would have transformed Poe's life.
ReplyDeletePoe wasn't very popular in Europe; we had Agata Christie and her most popular Hercule Poirot...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the week ππΌπ»
I've never been a fan of Poe, but what a tragic life he led. No wonder his work was so dark.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of those coincidences, no?
ReplyDeleteI love the juxtaposition of light and dark here.
And PEDRO PASCAL?????
I'm dying LOL
XOXO
Happy birthday to a National Treasure. I hope she's recovering well from the issue that caused her to cancel concerts.
ReplyDeleteDolly seems to have a good time, Poe not so much.
ReplyDeletePoe and Parton- the dark and the light.
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me to call my friend Ed in Vermont. It's his birthday too.

Hahaha. I loved the Pedro Pascal.
ReplyDeleteI've not read any Poe. Maybe I should.

ReplyDeleteOur Symphony is having a special Dolly Parton program to celebrate. I was sad to find out it didn't fit into my schedule
ReplyDeleteThis post is making me wish I shared a birthday with Poe π€. Dolly Parton is such an angel. Your memes are really funny, thanks for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteLove the juxtaposition! Dark and Light, indeed.
ReplyDeleteThe Hallmark and the Pedro Pascal are hilarious. I actually love the poem The Raven.
Dolly Parton is an amazing human! I find Poe literature depressing tbh ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove Poe.
ReplyDeleteSo interesting that these two were born on the same day. I love them both.
ReplyDeleteDolly Parton would not mind sharing a birthday with Poe, I think. She keeps an open mind. I really like her.
ReplyDeleteShe is a positive influence in today's world

These are so clever. I love Dolly Parton and my ex-the-second loves Edgar Allan Poe
ReplyDeletewow, what did they have in common? both wore wigs maybe?
ReplyDeleteKinda weird to put these two together, but okay. Astrologers might have a hard time explaining what they have in common.
ReplyDeleteI love them both! Thanks, Debra!
