The Edmonton Oilers are now out of the playoffs.
They didn't even make it past Round One this year,
defeated by the upstart Anaheim Ducks.
People are pointing to team fatigue from two previous seasons
of grueling Cup runs to the Finals. Plus McDavid and Draisaitl
also played in the Olympics just a couple of months ago.
With both the Oilers and the Ottawa Senators eliminated,
Canada's only hope for a Stanley Cup this year
now rests with the Montreal Canadiens.
GO HABS GO !!!

That is tough, but glad the Habs are still in it.
ReplyDeleteIt was sad to see the Oilers gone. The Habs game last night was a nail biter.
ReplyDelete@ RedPat -- Yes, it was! It will all come down to Game 7 now.
DeleteOilers are beaten by Ducks? Who knew??
ReplyDeleteIt's "next year country" again for us Oilers fans, but I hope the Habs advance to Round 2. If they get knocked out too, then I'll have to cheer for the team with the largest number of Canadian players on it, LOL!
ReplyDeleteahhh so sorry.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry the Oilers were eliminated, Debra! Big hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteOh, you are an ice-hockey fan...than good luck for your team. But if I am right you support the Oilers ....
ReplyDeleteHave a good time and all the best dear Debra

ReplyDeleteAs an Aussie. I’ll definitely be getting behind your Canadian team
ReplyDeleteEven if I don’t know what sport this Is or how it’s played lol
Montréal devra le gagner pour les Oilers, car tous les Canadiens sont une famille -
ReplyDeletesurtout en ces temps difficiles.
Monsieur Dupuis 🇨🇦
@ Monsieur Dupuis -- Nous comptons sur Montréal!
DeleteWell, that went fast, dang it. I'd hardly got my prayer card set up and it was ovah! On to whoever Habs are!
ReplyDeletePlayoffs are tough but you have a backup. Go Montreal!
ReplyDeleteOh... Understand you. We don't go to the plays here. But sometimes there are in TV. By the way, here we have in Augsburg there are the Panthers. Here, if you like: https://www.aev-panther.de/start.html
ReplyDeleteIf that's the team you're rooting for, it's fine with me, Debra.
ReplyDeleteGo Montreal!
ReplyDeleteI know nothing of this sport or the teams, but Go Canada!
ReplyDeleteSo sad. But, go Habs! (And now I even know what Habs means!)
ReplyDeleteI'm watching the snooker, not the same but I don't follow the ice hockey.
ReplyDeleteRockets also lost in the NBA playoffs. Six games in a row was too much for me just watching. Can't imagine how their bodies feel.
