GREETINGS, all my many, MANY devoted fans!
Yes, 'tis I, the Queen of All Artistry --
HER ROYAL HIGHNESS THE CAT !!!
Today I have set aside my ROYAL CROWN and JEWELS
and donned my HUMBLE ARTIST'S SMOCK and BERET
to share my endless artistic skill and knowledge
with all you wannabe artists!
As we all know, there is NO FINER SUBJECT for portraiture
than CATS in general and MYSELF in particular.
But no, no, this post is not about me.
REALLY, this time it is not.
This post is about teaching YOU the finer points
of how to draw a cat. Because, well,
HOW can I put this DELICATELY?
So, MY EAGER STUDENTS, read on, learn,
ABSORB my ARTISTIC GENIUS.
This is how it's done --
Once the drawing is PURRFECT,
you are ready to PAINT!
Cats LOVE to be painted!
Here's how to do it well --
Follow my advice and I GUARANTEE
that all of you will be MICHELANGELOs
and VAN GOGHs and PICASSOs in no time!
No, no, NO NEED to THANK me . . . .
"Send me money," as they say,
"Large denominations only." LOL!

@HRH: The cubic zirconias and rubber cheque are in the mail!
ReplyDelete...and free jets and ballrooms aren't free either!!!
ReplyDeleteI have asked Rosita to send money but she's lost her debit card AGAIN!!
ReplyDeleteThis was a fun post. :) I don't have a cat right now, but that orange guy with the fangs reminded me of one I had. Have a super Sunday!
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too many cat memes! The "realistic" painting is fabulous!
ReplyDelete100 % yes to (literally) painting a cat. Why didn't I think of this before?! lol
ReplyDeleteFun cat pieces!-Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteLOL>...thanks for the laughs.
ReplyDeleteI love these!
ReplyDeleteThe cat with the teeth in the paper, too funny.
ReplyDeleteToo good! The frame around the cat is purrrfect!
ReplyDeleteI had already received my first love bite from my cat before 9 a.m. this morning. The only thing she knows how to draw is blood. I will not be paying her, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteSo darn cute!
ReplyDeleteI had a little cat, Boud, my screen name honors her, who would run over my monotype plate, freshly inked, and paint her own paws. Then leave inky paw prints down the wall and across the floor. No beret though.
ReplyDeleteomgosh so many good tips, your catness.... gotta share your post with a couple artistic cat loving friends...
ReplyDeletegot caught up on your posts, I was trying to do my art lessons before they were gone, but now a new set has started! LeeAnna
Hello Debra and HRH, These techniques are too advanced for me. I am still having trouble with stick people.
ReplyDelete--Jim
You are so much fun. This is a great post. Thank you for sharing with SITAR and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteA cat of many talents.
ReplyDelete๐๐ฐ If HRH's Mom is still alive, she deserves all the money. Giving birth to that already large head must have taken a huge toll! Don't get me wrong. HRH's ego is a thing of beauty...a wonder of the world! I just feel bad for the canal her ego traversed to get here! ๐ฌ Especially if the tiara was already on!! ๐คฉ๐ป๐๐
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of tracing the cat, Debra. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday
ReplyDeleteMy linky today๐น๐น is
HERE
much love
I laughed all the way through this post. You have to have a cat to appreciate the humor here. If I tried to put paper over my cats head or paint her with a brush, she would be ripping and youling and flying all around the room until she had rid herself of it. Your cats are patient or just used to you. So I guess I will need to find other ways to paint a cat for the sake of both me and my cat. You really are a hoot!

Debra, you and HRH crack me up. This was the funniest post I read today so far and had to think of "my" cat all the way through. Purrfect for cat lovers! Thanks for the laughs.
ReplyDeleteDear Debra, I absolutely love all the cat photos, animations and illustrations! Absolutely adorable, dear friend. Thank you so much for this!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
This is hilarious and brilliant advice. The check is on my desk for signing. (OK, we don’t have checking accounts here. So that’s the first lie.) And I’ll still respect you in the morning.
ReplyDeleteAmusants.
ReplyDeleteJ’adore les kitty cats :)๐⬛
Monsieur Dupuis ๐จ๐ฆ
I did need your expertise, HRH. Thank you, humbly. While I shall attempt to create artwork like yours, I shall never achieve your brilliance.
ReplyDeleteOh my that was hilarious. Especially because it’s exactly what cats are thinking. Thanks for the laugh
ReplyDeleteThe first couple of sketches are at my drawing level.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a cat anymore and pictures like these really bring home that empty spot. Bonnie Rae is a great companion but for me, anyways, there is a difference if the affection and attention a dog gives you vs. a cat. Yep, I think I need both.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I have 3 cats, so I enjoy perusing through your Queen of All Artistry post. Shalom!
ReplyDeleteI miss my Lola, thoguh she would never have allowed me to "paint" her with a brush like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!!!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the cat pics
ReplyDeleteI like the method of using a photo of a cat and draw an outline with the head the same size - it's genius.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
The May/December is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteCute.
