Unless they were rich, our ancestors did not have to worry about exercising. Ordinary life and work were very physical and there was no pizza or screen-time. If you had told them that one day millions of people would pay gym subscriptions, they would have been incredulous.
My walks are punctuated by frequent needs to stop and take photos. And what do I do with all of them? Post on blogs of course...my fingers do the walking!
OMG! So many of those made me laugh. Don't fart, that's me in yoga class. I'm old, generally the oldest person in yoga class and I don't know about other old people but farts slip out so much easier now. I was in one class trying to do the tree and I farted and then again and then again and I finally busted out laughing and then the whole class of of about 10 people started laughing. The instructor, also giggling, said something like, it happens. Yes, but why is it always me. I was so gratified in last weeks class that it was someone else that farted.
LOL. I used to do yoga, but then the instructor moved to Half Moon Bay and we couldn't find anyone qualified to take over. Well, no one qualified and willing to teach Naked Yoga. LOL
Hah! These are great! I especially relate to the kitty because I began an exercise program in June that was supposed to give results in a month… and it’s only now that I am seeing a small improvement 😀
LOL! But running is not the end all be all. I have exercise-induced asthma, so running, even when I was in peak condition, was a struggle. But, a few years back I decided I could do it. So I started. 200 feet. Then 400, then six...and so on. It was KILLING ME. Every run, I thought I was going to die -- panicking for air until stopping, but my lungs grew stronger and eventually, I worked my way up to jogging a mile straight, then two. I stopped at 2.4. (It's a time-commitment thing.) There are still some mornings I hate it, but ultimately, my lungs thank me for the strain. It's been about 7 years now and I'm glad I started. I don't run every day. In fact, it's usually twice a week, but I have to imagine the benefits will follow me for at least a couple decades to come.
Hilarious, Debra! I use a variation of that pro-tip all the time ~ stopping to take photos with my camera. LOL! And I can definitely relate with the worrier pose. 😂
I feel seen! On a corporate outing I had to room with a coworker. No big deal, we were friends. Until 4am when her alarm went off. I rolled over and asked if she was okay. Yep, just going for a run, want to join me? Oh hell no I don't. I asked to get my own room the issue was not enough rooms left in the hotel. Every morning at 4am. I should have just run, but nope, I'm holding on to my chubbiness. :-) Almost winter you know.
This hits home!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Hiking for me and working out with a group of other people my age are wonderful ways to keep in shape.
ReplyDeleteFart.
It happens!
Binoculars!!! That's the trick!!!

ReplyDeleteI definitely have the worrier pose down, and maybe the guy doing squats-don't fart:)
ReplyDeleteI'll have you know I exercise plenty daily. I lift my gin and tonic for several hours each night to my lips.

ReplyDeleteThe farting one makes me laugh so hard
ReplyDeleteHilarious, Debra! I use a variation of that pro-tip all the time ~ stopping to take photos with my camera. LOL! And I can definitely relate with the worrier pose. 😂
