At some point, I always try to ask about them. The stories that cients tell are always rich and powerful, giving me clues to who they are outside my clinic and limited scope of being. It's all well and good for me to "not understand" why they are so popular, but still remember that my generation did lots of questionable things... there is still judgment in there even when I don't want it.

But now? Well, first I'm trying to get rid of any judgments on my part. I haven't the right. But second, I want to hold your story about your dad very close. Others have similar stories. And I need to remember that we all have our ideas of badges. One man or woman's scar or "mutilation" is another person's badge or mark of beauty.

Thank you for your wonderful way of writing and for a series that did me some real good... in SPITE OF MYSELF! sigh...JeannetteLShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13528285846408727632noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4666990364305390259.post-55972546685282545212011-09-17T15:00:54.333-06:002011-09-17T15:00:54.333-06:00good stuff, deb... my dad was in that war, too, he...good stuff, deb... my dad was in that war, too, he fought the nazis :)laughingwolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08873675614347328116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4666990364305390259.post-60445240779691951782011-09-17T14:42:08.685-06:002011-09-17T14:42:08.685-06:00What a great story - it's not often you can cr...What a great story - it's not often you can credit a tatoo for saving you!Ruehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09521209734809361226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4666990364305390259.post-78835409007301884352011-09-16T21:49:24.068-06:002011-09-16T21:49:24.068-06:00lest we forget...stories like that are our history...lest we forget...stories like that are our history...so terrifying for young men everywhere.....the tattoo was their symbol of bravery...cheers to all the brave!mermaid galleryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04678555215616371872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4666990364305390259.post-80694011497571238512011-09-16T18:48:55.162-06:002011-09-16T18:48:55.162-06:00glad of that..or there would be no you.glad of that..or there would be no you.yellowdoggrannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14906624317290990109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4666990364305390259.post-77484205483520220912011-09-16T16:21:49.701-06:002011-09-16T16:21:49.701-06:00My father was a soldier too.
