Goddess of the Northern Lights

This stunning shot of northern lights was a past National Geographic Photo of the Year (and deservedly so!) I don't know where it was taken, but I suspect it must have been the High Arctic somewhere. To see northern lights of this calibre is a rare blessing, indeed. I wrote previously of my encounters with northern lights (here and here) and just had to update the topic by posting this amazing photo. Anyone else see the beautiful vulva and clitoral imagery in the folds of these aurora borealis?

  1. Wow! Wow! Wow!

Only saw Northern Lights once, down here. Our son saw them and came over to tell us. I froze outside for a while, but it was worth it. Nothing like these, of course!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I have enjoyed reading your posts on the Northern Lights.

I have seen them on three occasions. Once a very faint display while living in northern Colorado. And the other two occasions were in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The ones I saw in Alaska were incredible, though nothing quite like some photos I have seen of them. They were mainly blue & green with some white thrown in for good measure. And yes, they do make noise. They crackle and tinkle. Very mesmerizing. And enchanting.
I hope to be enchanted by them again some day.

  9. I didn't see IT until you mentioned it, but then I have been known to be a little slow at the get go. I was admiring the colors and didn't really pay attention to the shapes.Hee Hee...Soooo, that means it's not a bad thing if it turns blueish green, right?

  13. That photo is quite beautiful. Isn't it just amazing the gifts that nature offers. I have only caught glimpses that I thought might be the northern lights. Never sure. One day I shall travel a little farther north and seek them out. :)

  14. Amazing! And also a spiral image of sorts... So much to see here!

We get occasional 'whisps' of Northern Lights, but nothing to this extent.

  15. I have always wanted to see the northern lights. You are so lucky to have witnessed them. I'm seeing a spiral by the way...not necessarily female anatomy, but I can kind of go there with this image.
