A large nude sunbather, she reclines elegantly while smoking a cigarette. She is a huge work of art in every way. Personally, I think she is Botero's masterpiece. I was thrilled to see her in the flesh (so to speak) at Calgary!
Oh, those impossibly perky breasts!
You can keep your skinny Aphrodites and Venuses. Botero's "Woman Smoking a Cigarette" is the true Goddess of Love!
[These photos come from teh interwebz, not the Calgary exhibit. No photos allowed there, of course.]

Amazing how Botero imbued such sexiness in this statue. And seeing it through your eyes didn't hurt either.
ReplyDeleteThough I still like his paintings better!
Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYeah, those young, perky breasts! -Hehhhhh- I'm too jealous to do anything but "turn green". -pout-
ReplyDeleteLOL.
Btw, Happy Thanksgiving!!!

ReplyDeleteThere is a cuteness to her that I can't quite explain. Love it, and thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI guess that would be called 'bootylicious'. The love that she's holding a cigarette. It give a bit of humor to the sculpture.
ReplyDeleteNever liked the term 'perky'...probably because it never fit me...
ReplyDeleteOh she is beautiful! I'd love to feel her sensual body...gorgeous :)

ReplyDeleteThank You for sharing & opening me up to a wonderful artist!!!
Blessings!
When my uncle was alive and a young man, someone took a picture of him at the beach in a similar pose, cigarette in hand, appropriately clad of course. He liked the picture so much he added it to the letterhead of his stationery (back when people used to buy personalized stationery). For that reason this reminded me of him...no coincidences.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what she's thinking about? Maybe just thinking of having another cigarette... ;-)
ReplyDeleteVa va voom! Now how do I get 'the girls' to stay up like that? Very perky indeed!
ReplyDeleteNow if that isn't a real woman!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd a gorgeous woman at that.
I LOVE rolls!!!
ReplyDeleteI am salivating. I have a *small* obsession with the female figure and the more exaggerated, the better. Yes, those buns ::grope grope:: >:D Do you think they'd kick me out for fondling the exhibits?
ReplyDeleteOh Bless, a Goddess body just like me, she is wonder and beauty in her curveracious scrumptious-ness and it makes me want to run my hands over her.. and kiss the artist just 'cause I can. Thanks for sharing this here something I wouldn't have got to see otherwise..
