Well, after the frenzied craziness of Christmas and New Years, I think we could ALL use a little zen bliss, courtesy of those who know it best. Ommmm!Purrrr!
I agree totally! There have been studies of how holding a cat can lower blood pressure, and provide you with peace and contentment. The nursing home where my Mom has moved, has three resident cats. You frequently find them curled up with one human, or another, sound asleep. And, if someone is upset, one of the staff will bring in one of the cats, for the person to hold, and within minutes, all is calm, and everyone is happy.
I've had this tag line on my e-mail signature for years, now. . "I put down my book, The Meaning of Zen, and see the cat smiling into her fur as she delicately combs it with her rough pink tongue. Cat, I would lend you this book to study but it appears you have already read it. She looks up and gives me her full gaze. Don't be ridiculous, she purrs, I wrote it. - from "Miao" by Dilys Laing .
May your whole year be filled with peace, love, & laughter, Deb! You certainly share a lot of all, with us!
you are a hockey fan, right? it was petr nedved's manager. he lived somewhere up by you too. i learned all of my czech cooking from the jagr's and nedveds!
We're all having a major zen time of it tonight. Four kitties all sprawled out around me on the bed as I calm down from a busy and exhausting evening...... oh wait! Wait! Brandon has now decided to be a true cat and contradict what I was just writing. LOL! He's getting into my quills. That took all of 3 seconds. So much for zenning out.
