Here we don't have Mardi gras we have "clean Monday" . It is supposed to be the first day of fasting before easter and we eat lots of seafood and fly our kites.. I prefer yours with all the drinking and throwing of beads!
Roux Flambeaux here, I'm a white sauce that's always lit. Might be radiation from all the x-rays and MRIs or it could just be from my pain meds. Aahahaahahaahaaa.
So, many years ago the whole drive down to Mardi Gras I told my hubby ain't no way I'm earning beads. That's so demeaning to women. Blah blah blah. Several beers into the night when the girl next me was getting beads and I wasn't, I earned my beads. Lots of them. ;)
The most fun time I ever had in my life was going to Mardi Gras (about 25 years ago) with a perfect group of friends. I never wanted to do it again because that time was so perfect. I still have a bag of the beads I got in a trunk (all gotten without showing my goods.) :)
My mom was away for a few days with my brother and at the hotel they were at, they gave out beads! She brought them home for me! Roux Jester, I like!!! Looks like there is a lot of Rouxs in your comments! LOL! Hope you had some pancakes! Hugs!
I have been off the computer all week and sadly it wasn't that I was off celebrating Mardi Gras. If I had been I would have been calling myself Gris Gris Doubloon.
roux krewe is my name!
ReplyDeleteround these parts, we do donuts today (no tim hortons, though).

Hope you had a fun celebration! Have a great week!
