I know everyone using the Blogger platform HATES the fact that comments no longer show up in our email accounts. It seems this change resulted from Blogger's adjustments to its privacy settings.
Have you heard how to fix it yet? If not, here's what you do:
- on your Blogger dashboard, click on Settings on the left sidebar;
- then click on Email;
- in the Comment Email Notification box, delete your email address;
- click on Save Settings up in the right hand corner (don't skip this step!);
- then go back to the Comment Email Notification box and type in your email address again;
- then click on Save Settings again (don't skip this step!);
- you will immediately receive an email from Blogger in your email account asking you to subscribe to notifications -- click on "subscribe" in that email;
- and that's it! You will begin receiving blog comments in your email account once more!
And thanks to Infidel753 for noting a variation in the procedure if you use comment moderation, as follows:
"For those who use comment moderation, the process is slightly different -- Under "Settings", you click on "Posts, comments and sharing" and then follow basically the same steps."
I must admit I've never gone for the option of receiving comments via email as well as on my blogs because mine are on moderation I read them all that way anyway. But thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteI fixed it two weeks ago, I thought I mentioned it to you how to fix it somewhere, Debs, or maybe I haven't?
ReplyDeleteI'd been away from blogger and was wondering why comments no longer showed up in my email. Now I know. Thanks for all this information.
ReplyDeleteI'm'a fix mine right now! Thank!

I don't think I ever did get blog comments in my email.
ReplyDeleteHave you noticed that every time software gets "updated, improved, more user friendly" the results are always less efficient, more confusing and user hostile!
ReplyDeleteI've been getting comments in my email.
ReplyDeleteA PSA on blogging! Thanks, blog friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteThank the Goddess I fixed that long ago. But it's good to have a PSA for those who need to know.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this information, comments not arriving in my box has been really annoying. I much admire all of those who have managed to work it all out for themselves but it is all beyond me so I appreciate you lettting us know - thank you Debra.
ReplyDeletethank you jesus (or debra)!!!! i had given up on it ever working again!
ReplyDeleteDo not really care about email notifications, friend Deb … I just go blogger reader and voila …there you are … works for me … Much love, cat.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra. You pointed out both the problem and solution for a problem that I didn't even know I had. I have been neglecting my blog recently, but still there were a few recent comments that I never received. Let's hope this fixes it!

THANK YOU!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was something to do with the GDPR, from what I understand.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Thank you. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteExcellent!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, this has been driving me BUGSHIT!! Thank you for posting this. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip. I had to tweak all five of my blogs, but only did the e-mail thing for my main one (not that it matters much because I did the word verification thing to eliminate spam). Additionally, it seems that it made the default on who can comment to only those with Google accounts, so if you like everyone to comment (those w/o Google accounts), you have to tweak that as well.
ReplyDeleteJust got it done. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you dearly for this info!
ReplyDeleteThank you a million times thank you! I have been frantically trying to figure out why I wasn't getting comments any longer. Blessed day!
ReplyDeleteLOL... I got that fixes message last week sometime and passed it on but thanks for sharing. It really was annoying. Glad it could be fixed.
ReplyDeleteSo many nice and helpful people in this sometimes irritating land of blogs.
ReplyDeleteBe well and thanks for passing this on, Debra.
Yay! Thank you! I'll have to point other people who are having issues this direction.
ReplyDeleteAnd here I was thinking my computer had just gone slightly insane. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLisa of LifeAway from the Office Chair told me about the change. I just can't figure out WHY Blogger keeps changing things//If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this. It really works! Why is Google so annoying?
ReplyDeleteI love getting my comments by email. Then again, I'm super lazy. I mean, who wants to hit another button to log on to my Squarespace account ;p
ReplyDeleteElsie
Thanks, Debra! I've copied your instructions for future reference! When I'm home again and not drinking wine! LOL
ReplyDeleteCool!! Thanks Debra!!!
ReplyDeleteThis worked for me, too. Thanks for spreading the word.
ReplyDeleteI shut mine off on purpose but when I come back, back, I might turn them on again. Now that I have email setup on the desktop instead of the tablet only. Anyway, glad it helped. My friend Sheila told me about it.
