Monday, Bloody Monday

Ugh, it's Monday morning once again. This calls for serious prayer.

And if the Divine does not answer our prayers,
let's call on the Other Guy.

Coffee is a human need that's as old as we are.
Maybe even older.

It's what we need to kickstart the old bods.

If we don't have time to make coffee at home,
let's get it at a coffee shop!

Although commercial coffee is expensive . . .

. . . and can be very frustrating to order.

No matter how we do it, getting some coffee inside us
is our only must-do goal for the day.

You know it's true.

  2. The last one has been my motto for years now on a monday.

  3. Love a cup of coffee but when I have been out all day nothing beats a good old cup of tea.

  4. I do look forward to that first cup, just regular old instant coffee with milk. Unfortunately, anything caffeinated later in the day messes with my sleep, so it's decaf after that if I have anymore. -Jenn

  5. As I sit over my second cuppa, I laughed at the Starbucks cartoon. They get my name right here, bring it to my table, and charge me $1.60.

  6. I met a Tim Horton and I said "you have many Canadian coffee shops".

  7. Monday's have never been the same since I retired. It's a good feeling, isn't it?

  9. I just had my Rage Stabilizer.
    i don't think it worked.
    Be afraid .......

  10. Beginning the day with orange juice is just so wrong. Only coffee has what it takes to get me to my feet and keep me there till 'elevenses'.

  11. Nice... I just started drinking coffee about 2 years ago. Before that, I drank massive amounts of soda for my caffeine. A little research revealed that coffee was a way better and more healthy caffeine delivery system.

  12. In my sleepy haze, I literally made a cup of coffee this morning with tepid water instead of hot. The first sip was the worst. :D

  13. I would like the Devil Brand Coffee for my kitchen lol!

  14. I get my caffeine fix with soft drinks, but those are some pretty funny memes.

  15. I love that Starbucks meme. Anyone who knows me - even reasonably well - knows not to begin conversations with me until I have at least one cup of coffee under my belt. There are many things I'd begrudgingly give up, but coffee is not one of them.

  16. Hee hee...this is funny. Although, I don't actually drink coffee. Can't stand the stuff. :-)

  17. The only way to start the day in my opinion!

  18. I sympathize with the fellow in the shirt with squares. Cuppa coffee should be on every menu.

  19. Thank you for getting my day going, consider it Monday.
    Coffee is on

  20. Hello Debra, Great cartoons as always. I do drink coffee, but in the morning out of little instant packets. I find most coffee-house coffee much to strong for my tastes, and need to dilute it.

  21. Coffee is a wonderful thing. Nothing like that first sip in the morning!

  22. In Northern Europe, we drink our coffee quite strong … one cup in the morning and one cup around 1500hrs carries one through the whole day … my Canadian friends call my coffee molasses … smiles … Love, cat.

  23. I've been drinking coffee since I was twelve. Actually, I drink coffee with my creamer and Splenda. I now drink half-caff, so instead of three mugs a day I now drink six. These are so funny! I come from people who believe that if your spoon can't stand up in your cup by itself then the coffee isn't strong enough. I think I was a foundling.

  24. Sigh - I would love to give up coffee but it is one of those habits that is so hard to break.

  25. I Love a good fresh ground and brewed cup of coffee, and I've been using the damned keurig for so long now because of the convenience, I've almost forgotten how good REAL coffee tastes. *sigh

  26. You forgot the meme
"Apparently 'Just fuck me up' is not a proper coffee order at Starbucks"
    That's my favorite.

  27. Great memes! Even though I don't have to go to work anymore, coffee is still just as essential in the morning.

  28. Definitely my Go Go juice!!

  29. I love it. Great Monday Morning Chuckle and reaffirms my belief that the world does not turn without my morning cup of coffee.

  30. I don't drink coffee, but I hate Mondays and thus know the feeling.

  35. My morning isn't right until I hear the familiar gurgling of the mokka pot. And the Starbucks remind me of a video on aa post from last year:

  37. I'd be lost without my morning coffee, Debra. That Tim Horton's Monday Morning looks about right!

  38. I love the smell of coffee but I'm a Tea Girl. Husband brings me a cup first thing in the morning in bed. That's the best.

  39. The moment I am able to taste coffee again, I plan to have at least 5 cups. I don't care if I never sleep again. I would be all happiness if I get to climb that walls, shrieking madly, "Hug my brain, hot stuff!"

  40. True. All of them. Posting to Facebook.

  41. They need to have memes like this for tea drinkers.

  43. As old age catches up with me, I'm now a decaf drinker. Sigh.

  44. Shhhh... don't tell anyone, but I sometimes do reach for coffee over tea (usually when I have to go into the office, I work from home most days). However, I have figured out which teas I love when the caffeine levels in my blood need to go Plus Ultra, Irish Breakfast, English Breakfast, Assam and Pu-ehr (especially Pu-Ehr).

  45. This is my older brother! Don't even talk to him, if he doesn't have his coffee and I am serious! LOL!
For me, sorry, I'm a green tea drinker!
