Halloween Party Invite!

Got nothing better to do?

Then come to my country estate for a Halloween party!

You'll be warmly greeted at the door.
Probably hugged to death!

And you'll be welcomed inside the house too!

Help yourself to a beverage.

Yes, there will be nachos!

Keep your eyes peeled for
spaghetti and meatballs too.

And save room for cupcakes!

But please refrain from snacking
on any of the other guests.

And in deference to my guest Joan of Arc,
no BBQ will be served.

The costumes will largely be sweet and innocent,
like Rapunzel here in her tower,
who will let down her hair for you.

And what is more wholesome than
Peter Pan and his shadow?

However, some costumes may be a little risqué,
like Babe Lincoln's . . .

. . . although there will be no nudity, I promise!

But what the hell, come to the party anyway!

  4. Boy, you don't mess around when it comes to Halloween. But -- no pumpkin spice?

    I'll skip the cupcakes though.

  6. OMG - these are so funny, and I really, really adore the little baby octopus! You find the best stuff! What will I be doing this weekend? Eating candy I shouldn't be, watching Netflix, catching up on administrative tasks and reading. No scary stuff for me at all! Hugs, RO

  7. Be sure to pass around body parts in a dark room: peeled grapes (eyes), cooked cold spaghetti (use imagination) bones from the butcher (bones) chicken livers, etc. We used to do this when we were kids.

  8. I love a good party....I'll come as temptation!!!!!!

  9. I didn't believe it till I checked - that book in the first picture really exists. It says: "these cats will feel like they're actually licking your face or nuzzling your ankles-so you'll have to stop yourself from trying to pet them! "

  14. How long can we stay at your country estate?

  15. @ DEZMOND -- You can stay as long as you like or until I phone the police to evict you, whichever comes first!

  16. What creative costumes! Rather than a costume, I will be dressed as witch - or as my real self, lol.

Your country estate looks lovely, m'dear!

  17. I was chatting with a woman at the pool yesterday who once went to a party dressed as 'tan mom', if that moniker rings a bell.

  18. I'm setting off now… might take a while to get there, though. Save me some cake.

  28. Do you suppose the little one in photo #9 is an Irish baby?

  29. @ Old Lurker -- Mr. Swift, your satirical humour is LOL-worthy.

  30. Hello Debra, I was having such fun sharing these that I almost forgot to comment! The Joan of Arc at the Stake has got to be the most clever of these, and of course I fell in love with all the baby ones!

  35. These are great! I feel like I could make those cupcakes but when I try to frost them it would just turn out like schmears of pink blobs. No one would know it was supposed to be brains.

  39. I will be there if only to turn that poor octopus child over to social services. That is abusive parenting.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh I'll be there! I want some of those nachos!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I only snack on guests when they're hot, single men. But Babe Lincoln did get me excited. ;-)

  42. Love Peter Pan and his shadow! Halloween is a really big thing over the Atlantic I guess. It's not so big here although it's taking off.
