It's Valentines Day on Friday!
I hope none of you give or receive
any of these rather "iffy" valentines.
And for gawd's sake, make sure you can sing
before you serenade somebody!
Always be careful with food gifts
as tokens of affection.
They can backfire sometimes.
Some of you would LOVE
this next box of chocolates,
I know!
And finally, heartfelt valentines greetings from
Her Royal Highness the cat --
HRH has the right words to say!
ReplyDeletemy fave is the "you complete mess" heart.
Ahhhh
ReplyDeleteNow I want that box of chocolates!!!
V day is kinda fun but I don't put much thought on it. I do call my friends, though. Call, not text. Because it' much more fun.
XOXO
Neat gifs. I like the goodbye chocolates. Have a happy Valentines Day!
ReplyDeleteLove it, other heart ideas "take a shower", U R Kidding?"
ReplyDeleteThose food gifts!
ReplyDeletei want those last boxes. but i really want to make the microwave hearts!
ReplyDeleteThe Puritan cards are the best!
ReplyDeleteYep you know I love those Gothic boxes of chocolates. I just spent 5 minutes fantasizing about how I could create one in the next three days. But my plate is full of crafts at the moment and if I make one more enormous mess in this house, I am afraid his Lordship will walk out the door so maybe next year.
ReplyDeleteCats are ever so selfish, but they do look good in tophats!
ReplyDeletelol. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGood ones. I borrowed a few because, well, they just fit.
ReplyDelete;) if women wrote candy hearts!!!!!
These are all good, especially the microwaved heart and Puritanical "Affront to God" -- thanks for the hearty laughs, Deb!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day!
I won't be giving or getting anything to anyone this Friday. I never believed in it anyway. Signs of affection should be given year around. Don't clean your room only when your parents tell you!
ReplyDeleteI love the one with the filling coming out in the microwave but then that's the way I am. All of these are so funny thanks for the morning laughs.
ReplyDelete"Being with you fills me with impure thoughts, and I am ashamed." Bwahahaha!
ReplyDeleteOh, if I only had a Valentine, I would send every one of those Puritan cards!
ReplyDeleteFunny! I lolled at the 'complete mess' and the microwave... accident. Aww, heck, I laughed at them all! Very representative of my feelings about this absurd 'holiday'.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chuckles, D!
That one Puritan card is very very wrong. NOTHING is worth the eternal hellfire that awaits our wicked souls. But I guess that is what makes the card effective? On the other hand it is condemning one's beloved to eternal hellfire too.
ReplyDeleteUgh. Valentine's Day is so confusing.
That backfire really would be fire out the backside if it were what it looks like.
ReplyDeleteI thought the Puritan cards were good, but then I got to the microwave one! Bwahahaha! Of course, the skull is the clear winner as far as aesthetics.
ReplyDeleteThat's why they're many definitions of love.
ReplyDeleteWhy did I read that as Putin's Valentine's Day cards?
ReplyDeleteA little bit chuckles goes a long ways
ReplyDeleteI need to find a Complete mess one lol
ReplyDeleteWell, if savage Kittens wasn't a home run.
ReplyDeletethese gave me a much needed chuckle. I thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis cat is sending love to you, friend D … and from Theo Thunderbutt to HRH:) Always, cat.
ReplyDeletethat microwave picture would ruin anyone's day
ReplyDeleteWhat is the pink heart with stuff in it?
ReplyDeleteHello Debra, I wonder what kind of filling is in those Elmer's chocolates?
ReplyDelete--Jim
haha
ReplyDeletethat was heart broken post dear Debra :(((
but that is what i love about you :)))
hugs!
Hahaha. I posted the Lion on FB to my kids and I am going to send the chicken and fries to my sister. Still laughing.
ReplyDelete@ Susan Kane -- I'm not sure . . . it looks like a little sponge cake with chocolate (nutella?) inside. I haven't seen such things for sale in Canada. Could be a European or Asian product?
ReplyDelete@ Parnassus (Jim) -- Elmer's Chocolates is a brand I've never heard of before.
ReplyDeleteOh shit its Valentines day on Friday? Oh doesn't matter my partner is in the Antartica far far away. I can fart, snore and leave my socks on the floor all day long.
ReplyDeleteYes, my singing is rather like that. We don't even exchange cards on V day but if we did I would have the one that says, 'I need you ... to fix stuff and catch spiders.'
ReplyDeleteAh yes, Valentino's Day, where I get shafted every year because my wife's b'day is the day before.
ReplyDeleteI think the one with buffalo wings and fries states it the best, although the Goodbye one is the most brutal. Should pair that up with "Love Stinks" playing in the background, though.
@ Susan Kane, The pink heart has a paper underneath with Chinese writing on it. It is a steamed bun (bao) and the filling is probably red bean paste (beans are normally prepared sweet in Asia). You are supposed to steam them, not microwave them! --Jim
ReplyDeleteDo not microwave and chicken/fries in the heart box totally cracked me up.
ReplyDeleteThe last one could be our cats.
ReplyDeletethe Ol'Buzzard
The butt cookies are hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI am still trying to figure out how the story of a man who was beaten, tortured and beheaded ended up with roses and chocolates as part of his iconography?
ReplyDeleteOh Willym, you're such a romantic!
DeleteDeffo 'RU Listening?'
ReplyDeleteThe Love Boat theme was pretty, darn great.
You sure find some terrible good memes
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! Hilarious. And always fun to have HRH in there!
ReplyDeleteMy husband could give me the snoring heart. He recorded it one time and didn't tell me what it was. When he played it back and asked me what I thought it was, I said, "Aw, what are they doing to that poor pig. It sounds like it's dying." haha

The Love Boat theme!
ReplyDeleteCoincidentally, I spent a good deal of time singing that to my wife while we were on a cruise a couple weeks back. It's part of the catalog of 70's and 80's TV theme songs stuck in my memory. Also, it helped me keep distracted from the possibility that we might be on a coronavirus death ship. Good times!
Happy Valentines Day, nonetheless :)
That fourth one. A stalker's Valentine, I would guess.
ReplyDeleteI actually would be very good with a box of wings, depending on who made them. But I'm weird that way.
ReplyDeleteYou are far and away the best memes finder I've seen.
ReplyDeleteI'm always guaranteed laughter here.
Much gratitude for that, Debra.
These are brilliant!
ReplyDeleteLove the last one.
ReplyDeletecomplete me..ss
ReplyDeleteDamn, those are good!
ReplyDeleteI want the last two boxes!!! Chicken and fries, yummy! LOL! The last box is wickedly cool!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are all fun, Debra!
ReplyDeleteI usually make something rather than give money to the tat makers and greetings cards people.
