Questionable Valentines

It's Valentines Day on Friday!

I hope none of you give or receive
any of these rather "iffy" valentines.

And for gawd's sake, make sure you can sing
before you serenade somebody!

Always be careful with food gifts
as tokens of affection.

They can backfire sometimes.

Some of you would LOVE
this next box of chocolates,
I know!

And finally, heartfelt valentines greetings from
Her Royal Highness the cat --

  2. Ahhhh
Now I want that box of chocolates!!!
V day is kinda fun but I don't put much thought on it. I do call my friends, though. Call, not text. Because it' much more fun.

    XOXO

  6. The Puritan cards are the best!

  7. Yep you know I love those Gothic boxes of chocolates. I just spent 5 minutes fantasizing about how I could create one in the next three days. But my plate is full of crafts at the moment and if I make one more enormous mess in this house, I am afraid his Lordship will walk out the door so maybe next year.

  8. Cats are ever so selfish, but they do look good in tophats!

  9. Good ones. I borrowed a few because, well, they just fit.

;) if women wrote candy hearts!!!!!

  10. These are all good, especially the microwaved heart and Puritanical "Affront to God" -- thanks for the hearty laughs, Deb!

    Happy Valentine's Day!

  11. I won't be giving or getting anything to anyone this Friday. I never believed in it anyway. Signs of affection should be given year around. Don't clean your room only when your parents tell you!

  12. I love the one with the filling coming out in the microwave but then that's the way I am. All of these are so funny thanks for the morning laughs.

  13. "Being with you fills me with impure thoughts, and I am ashamed." Bwahahaha!

  14. Oh, if I only had a Valentine, I would send every one of those Puritan cards!

  15. Funny! I lolled at the 'complete mess' and the microwave... accident. Aww, heck, I laughed at them all! Very representative of my feelings about this absurd 'holiday'.

    Thanks for the chuckles, D!

  16. That one Puritan card is very very wrong. NOTHING is worth the eternal hellfire that awaits our wicked souls. But I guess that is what makes the card effective? On the other hand it is condemning one's beloved to eternal hellfire too.

Ugh. Valentine's Day is so confusing.

  17. That backfire really would be fire out the backside if it were what it looks like.

  18. I thought the Puritan cards were good, but then I got to the microwave one! Bwahahaha! Of course, the skull is the clear winner as far as aesthetics.

  19. That's why they're many definitions of love.

  20. Why did I read that as Putin's Valentine's Day cards?

  21. A little bit chuckles goes a long ways

  22. I need to find a Complete mess one lol

  23. Well, if savage Kittens wasn't a home run.

  24. these gave me a much needed chuckle. I thank you!

  27. What is the pink heart with stuff in it?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hello Debra, I wonder what kind of filling is in those Elmer's chocolates?

  30. Hahaha. I posted the Lion on FB to my kids and I am going to send the chicken and fries to my sister. Still laughing.

  31. @ Susan Kane -- I'm not sure . . . it looks like a little sponge cake with chocolate (nutella?) inside. I haven't seen such things for sale in Canada. Could be a European or Asian product?

    ReplyDelete
  32. @ Parnassus (Jim) -- Elmer's Chocolates is a brand I've never heard of before.

  33. Oh shit its Valentines day on Friday? Oh doesn't matter my partner is in the Antartica far far away. I can fart, snore and leave my socks on the floor all day long.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yes, my singing is rather like that. We don't even exchange cards on V day but if we did I would have the one that says, 'I need you ... to fix stuff and catch spiders.'

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ah yes, Valentino's Day, where I get shafted every year because my wife's b'day is the day before.

I think the one with buffalo wings and fries states it the best, although the Goodbye one is the most brutal. Should pair that up with "Love Stinks" playing in the background, though.

  36. @ Susan Kane, The pink heart has a paper underneath with Chinese writing on it. It is a steamed bun (bao) and the filling is probably red bean paste (beans are normally prepared sweet in Asia). You are supposed to steam them, not microwave them! --Jim

  37. Do not microwave and chicken/fries in the heart box totally cracked me up.

  38. The last one could be our cats.

  39. I am still trying to figure out how the story of a man who was beaten, tortured and beheaded ended up with roses and chocolates as part of his iconography?

  40. Deffo 'RU Listening?'

The Love Boat theme was pretty, darn great.

    ReplyDelete
  41. You sure find some terrible good memes

    ReplyDelete
  42. HAHAHA! Hilarious. And always fun to have HRH in there!

  43. My husband could give me the snoring heart. He recorded it one time and didn't tell me what it was. When he played it back and asked me what I thought it was, I said, "Aw, what are they doing to that poor pig. It sounds like it's dying." haha

  44. The Love Boat theme!
Coincidentally, I spent a good deal of time singing that to my wife while we were on a cruise a couple weeks back. It's part of the catalog of 70's and 80's TV theme songs stuck in my memory. Also, it helped me keep distracted from the possibility that we might be on a coronavirus death ship. Good times!
    Happy Valentines Day, nonetheless :)

  45. That fourth one. A stalker's Valentine, I would guess.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I actually would be very good with a box of wings, depending on who made them. But I'm weird that way.

    ReplyDelete
  47. You are far and away the best memes finder I've seen.
    I'm always guaranteed laughter here.
    Much gratitude for that, Debra.

  48. I want the last two boxes!!! Chicken and fries, yummy! LOL! The last box is wickedly cool!!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I usually make something rather than give money to the tat makers and greetings cards people.
