Lesbian Fashionistas

For your edification today,
I present a short primer
on classic lesbian fashion.

First up: a couple of photos
of the unabashedly butch Lea DeLaria,
for all you fans out there of Orange is the New Black.

Of course, no lesbian wardrobe
is complete without some plaid!

Despite stereotypes, however,
lots of lesbians
DO dress girly-girl.

Lipstick lesbians even have
their own pride flag!

To help everyone
spot lesbians more easily,
here's a handy dandy

And why do so many
lesbians NEED eye patches?

I LOVE me a woman in a suit! Love, love, love a butch.
I have this thing that I am irresistibly attracted to men's cuts in nice colors and textures and you don't get that unless you buy high fashion or...have a very good tailor and lots of money.

Now, the thing about eye patches is....

    LOL

    XOXO

  6. Ha! If you're worried about having an eye poked, try being a gay man when we... umm.. umm.. well google it.

  7. She has an eye patch because that blond tart almost poked her eye with that pointed bra.

  8. Dezmond: also known as a "ready-aim-fire" bra.

  9. That last picture cracked me up!!! Poor Jayne Mansfield put many an eye out!!! My favorite lesbian butch is Murray Hill!!!!!!

  10. Amblyopia, maybe?

Anyway, that looks like Jayne Mansfield on the right in that last picture.

  14. I laughed so hard at the plaid shirt and matching tablecloth. ;)
Eye patches?? Thank goodness we don't have pointy bras anymore!

  15. If I had to lose an eye, that would be the preferred choice.

  16. @ Kirk -- I had to look up the meaning of "amblyopia" and discovered it's a fancy-shmancy word for "lazy eye." And yes, I believe you're right about Jayne Mansfield! I'm wondering if the woman with her isn't her Mom, actually, because there is a certain physical resemblance in their faces. The eye patch is just photoshopped, I'm sure.

  17. @ Oblio -- Awwww, yer makin' me blush!

  18. You failed to mention Pirate Lesbian. What a relief that you included the photo!

  19. What, no photo of Lady Gaga in her torpedo tit bra that shoots fireworks?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Jayne sort of looks like the back end of a 57 chevy in that picture.

  21. Well, plaid IS my favorite color! No wonder I get along well with lesbians.
I'm surprised Jane Mansfield didn't poke more eyes out. Isn't that her mother next to her?

  22. @ Mike -- Ha ha, yes -- "nice fins!"

    ReplyDelete
  23. @ Tundra Bunny -- Damn! I forgot about that Lady Gaga bra! I always wanted one for myself, too.

    @ Jono -- Yes, that's my theory too. There's a facial resemblance.

  24. I know a teacher who always said that but I don’t think he meant it in the same way. Did he?

  25. Eye patches and lovely blades. Lesbians have all the fun!

  26. I lost some good tea laughing at that Simpsons meme!

  27. lol, like the last pic a lot, like a bit of plaid - in fact am fairly obsessed with kilts at the moment - who knew, not a lesbian myself, but will ensure I wear something underneath as if I get one I could be attracting admiring glances for all sorts of reasons!

  28. When I think of a lipstick lesbian, I always think of Carol played by Cate Blanchett.

    ReplyDelete
  29. That is a terrific picture of you! I am digging it!

  30. Jayne Mansfield's daughter is Olivia Benson on Law and Order SVU.

  33. Love, love, love a butch lesbian! I tend towards that direction myself but with more of an 'old woman next door who is faintly androgynous' air. Or so I imagine. Lol.

Thanks for the pix and lolz! Argh!

  34. @ e -- Hahaha, love your self-description! I don't consider myself to be very butch either, but have been called "sporty" in my day, whatever the hell that means, LOL,

  43. The song “Seventy Six Trombones Led The Big Parade” is going over and over in my head, dammit! Anyway, everyone is obviously having a great time. One of those women in suits looks uncannily like a slimmer version of my late F2M friend Jan who ended life as David and did mediaeval re-enactments. David’s armour was laid out on display at his memorial service by the Yarra river, and ashes laid in a tiny toy Viking boat which was sent down the river as he had wished. (Well, he really wanted a proper Viking funeral, but the local council would not have been pleased.)

I first came across the word “amblyopia” in a Peanuts comic, during my childhood. Linus is going around with an eye patch to correct his vision. He is thankful that it is so simple to correct this condition.

  44. I love these!
    Thanks for the smiles :D
