See You in August!

Her Royal Highness the Cat tells me
that it's time to take a little break.

"You're getting even duller, more
boring and repetitious than ever,"
she purred at me the other night.

"You need to pause, refresh, and
read a few books for a change.
You need to follow MY good example."

So I've decided to do exactly that.

I'm going to take July off from blogging,
sit out on my balcony, and
read some ACTUAL BOOKS!

NOT JUST
Steve 'n Bucky
fanfiction online
I promise.

And I'll also be . . .

  2. Ohh that's a great idea!
I should grab a real book and head to the beach, too.

    XOXO

  3. Enjoy July on your balcony - I am busily reading my way through a pile of books that I have bought. I am not a really fast reader so only one book per week.
By the way I remember that you planned to visit Crete this Autumn - is that trip still on? I know that they have had very few cases there and that they were worried because they have a very large population of aged people in all the Greek islands, but I believe they are now open for tourists and business again.

  9. @ Rosemary -- No, I cancelled the Crete trip. I won't be traveling anywhere until there's a vaccine. My balcony is my tourist destination now, alas.

  18. Enjoyed thoroughly my fourth PRIDE month via "She Who Seeks".

Never ceases to make me laugh out loud. I particularly love the memes where "christians" show up with signs that get covered over by happy people commenting back in one way or another. I particularly loved the one that had a hate sign that read:

    HOMO
    SEX
    is

But the last word is covered by a joyously happy guy in a pink man shirt, victoriously holding a sign that says:

    GREAT!!!!!

Anyways, thank you for making me laugh, cry and THINK.

  21. I really loved Plainsong by (I think) Kent Haruf. I'm sure of the last name. At first it doesn't seem to be going anywhere, but then it goes somewhere splendid.

  26. @ e -- Yeah, I've been thinking about getting my rear in gear to do a bit of art too. Today at the grocery store I bought a red pepper, not to eat, but to model for me for watercolours practice. Although I might make it do double-duty. Paint first, then eat.

  36. A friend of mine retired in December. He lives in NYC. He *had* plans to travel.

And he did! He took a train trip across the country, long a bucket list thing...then...

"Okay, so once I retired I wanted to do a lot of traveling.
Well, Since my train trip I’ve been to:
    Kitchenton,
    Coucharado,
    Chairview, and
    Toiletchusetts.
That place was a real shithole!"

    Enjoy your month's blogcation!

  47. You will be missed; but I understand. With all the craziness that seems to be the daily norm, I am blogging less: I feel that what I have to say pales in the madness.

Perhaps your break will give me a chance to catch up ~ LOL Thanks for being an awesome blogging buddy. And Happy Canada Day. I can't wait to hear what you read! You and your Rare One please stay healthy, happy, and safe!
