How funny! I love things that make me laugh out loud! And today is it even a cool morning here in Georgia, very unusual for this time of year! Take care, Debra!
I was reading this morning an article reminding us the USA is an ongoing process to see if we can do the great experiement set up in 1776. It is a work in progress.
@ Moving with Mitchell -- The continuing British influence in Canada probably did have a very real effect on how Canada evolved. But Canada has also turned out the way it has because we have made a practice of regarding American history as a "cautionary tale" of how NOT to run a government or country. We watch the USA very closely.
I can't say I'm all that optimistic about the future of my country in the sense of it remaining a democracy (of course, with all those nukes and all, we'll remain a sovereign nation) but I did find these almost wistfully amusing.
"Getting rid of u" I'd hilarious. I once wrote "honor" in my very first essay in English, during my first year at uni in the UK. It was marked as a mistake. I wrote back to the lecturer to say that "honor" was also correct.
Sadly, the founding Fathers *would* roll in their graves if they could. It's a shitshow here. And that's right about the incredibly high-maintenance apparel they donned.
You always find the good ones, Debra! I was laughing almost all the way through. The gun situation in the US is beyond insane, and I'm beginning to think that I could walk out the door and not return because of someone shooting me.
How funny!

ReplyDeletegreat collection all around, Debra!
That "right to bear arms" thing has come back to haunt us. Talk about unintended consequences.
ReplyDeleteThese had me roaring!!!!!!!!!! The signature one and the duck especially! Thank you Debs!
ReplyDeleteI’ve always wondered if, had there been no American Revolution, would the United States have turned out like Canada. Not perfect, but SO much better.

ReplyDeleteLove them all, but especially the chocolate sandwich biscuits!
ReplyDeleteLove the duck! Some revisions to our Constitution would be very helpful. Particularly clarification for those lacking in brain cells.
ReplyDeleteFitting for Americans

ReplyDeleteLoved the duck and men in tights! And the rest, really.
ReplyDeleteI don't love this holiday, though, mostly because of idiots with fireworks. Also for more angsty reasons...
