We used to be bird people. Canaries, love birds, and an Amazon parrot. The love birds were the least loving. The parrot suffered from chronic PMS... and she let you know it verbally.
Hahahaha That first one, though... And I'm afraid I'm not a pet person. I can appreciate them, but I don't have one. Maybe when I'm old? And it may have to be a doggie. I'm allergic to kitties.
@ anne marie in philly -- NO, I did NOT approve this post. It is VERY DISRESPECTFUL of cats. We are gods, GODS, and must be treated as such! (Hugs to your kitties)
I remember being tormented by (three, four, a hundred?) kittens every night during an extended stay with friends one summer. I still experience PTSD when I see a cat.
Oh my ... had a bunch of cats when growing up in Illinois. And, they all had names! I've always had house pets ... usually a cat ... sometimes a dog would show up ... but mostly I am a cat lady! My Pug [named Pug] was so damned smart ... loved that pudgy boy! Got my Maine Coon girl, Feather, and she was the most gorgeous feline EVER!!! Now ... where I live ... no pets allowed! 😢
I've had birds, dogs, cats. And cats who were great friends with my birds. Byt for real friendship, it's cats. Never leave me when I'm not well. One appointed herself my late husband's nurse when he came home from rehab, till his death. Never left him. Studied his carers critically. Our other was the social director of the household, greeting visitors, escorting them around.
miaow. i am taksers cat phoebe. i dont know why he has a cat name and i have a people name. he has left his computery thing on the table switched on again. i am not supposed to be up here but just wanted to say you are being very unfair to cats. sorry i still dont know how to use big letters. i have to go now because i can hear him coming back. i have super hearing.
I am ambiPETstrous. I love both dogs and cats. Currently sharing my house with a very impressive individual in the shape of a rather large cat. Monsieur Pierre is elegant, affectionate (within limits), intelligent and bossy. He runs me. He is a fine feline.
I love the referral of "trash gremlin" of cats. Although I have never seen a cat owned or stray that got into the trash around here. BTW, David and I are going to be proud grandparents to a tiny stray that has claimed us. We have a pet carrier in the shade on the porch that is set up with a soft blanket and it's covered with a towel to give a sense of privacy. The door is kept open for her with a tiny bungie cord. I haven't picked a name for her. She's a dainty little thing and she's about to pop those kittens out.
These made me giggle! We have a dog and had dogs in the family growing up (although none at home as my father is allergic), the one we have now is a tiny Shih Tzu - we fell in love with him at the shelter, even though I've only been around big dogs before we had a smaller first home at the time and he was better suited for our yard. can't imagine life without him, although I wouldn't say no to another dog or a cat! I love both! :)
I was a cat person until I got a dog. Now I'm both. I love that my dog always loves me, and I love that my cats always expect me to serve them. Which I do. Because HRH is correct. Cats are Gods and should be treated accordingly. :)
Oh man, these are the best. I've been a cat lover since the beginning of time. I love dogs, too, but cats are the best. My wife and I are currently the proud slaves to a plump, elderly feline who makes all the rules and calls all the shots, and we couldn't love her crotchety old self more!
Hello Debra, I just bought a toy stuffed Husky (or perhaps it's a Malamute). I have no one to give it to at the moment, but it was so cute I couldn't pass it up. But that raises the thought: I have seen many toy stuffed dogs, but I don't think ever a toy stuffed cat!* --Jim *At least a fairly realistic one; I am not talking about Garfield or the Cat-in the-Hat types.
A few months ago I met a neighbour whilst walking our dogs. His dog is very cute and I asked him what breed she was, I was sure she was part terrrier. He then told me exactly what breeds were in her, he had paid for a DNA certificate!
So true! I never wanted to be a mom so I have always been a cat person. I identify more with independent souls that march to the beat of their own drum.
sigh*..that just makes me miss all my dogs and cats..I've been looking but everytime I think I'll get one or the other I think.I have a trip coming up ..I'll wait till after the trip...so that trips over and now we have a trip to go to the coast..so maybe afterwards..sigh*
I get a verbal response from my cats, so there. We hold conversations. We are both dog and cat people. All are foundlings or offspring of foundlings. The notion of paying money to BUY one is crazy. It costs enough to keep them healthy.

ReplyDeleteCats are so cool,
ReplyDeleteCarlos tells people Ozzo is a mix of Black Lab and Dachshund, which he is.
ReplyDeleteThe cats: a black one, a gray one, and a multi-colored one.
Hahahaha
ReplyDeleteThat first one, though...
And I'm afraid I'm not a pet person. I can appreciate them, but I don't have one. Maybe when I'm old? And it may have to be a doggie. I'm allergic to kitties.
XOXO
did HRH approve this post? where would we be without kitties!

ReplyDeleteGood ones as always lol. I'm just an animal people, I love them all! :)
ReplyDeleteI have owned dogs. I now live with cats.
ReplyDeletethe Ol'Buzzard
As a bird person, I concur with the thoughts expressed here.
ReplyDeleteI remember being tormented by (three, four, a hundred?) kittens every night during an extended stay with friends one summer. I still experience PTSD when I see a cat.

ReplyDeleteI have had dogs and cats I guess I am more 'dog' person but I would love another cat, a black one.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say I fully approve your Pickles entry.

ReplyDeleteIm dog person all the way, but have had one cat. Love birds, but would never have them in the house. Birds are messy for me.
ReplyDeleteBUT these were a crack up! I not sure Buster approves though.
I think the best dog breed is mutt.
ReplyDeleteI am ambiPETstrous. I love both dogs and cats. Currently sharing my house with a very impressive individual in the shape of a rather large cat. Monsieur Pierre is elegant, affectionate (within limits), intelligent and bossy. He runs me. He is a fine feline.
ReplyDelete@ e -- What a great portmanteau word! Kudos!
ReplyDeleteDog person here but I enjoyed my grandparents’ cats when I was young.
ReplyDeleteI love the referral of "trash gremlin" of cats. Although I have never seen a cat owned or stray that got into the trash around here.

@ Leanna -- How wonderful that you are giving her shelter in her time of need! Bast will bless you for it!
ReplyDeleteBe the person your dog thinks you are. Who cares what cats think?
ReplyDeletePretty accurate.
ReplyDeleteCats all the way!

Away From The Blue
I'm my cat's best friend. He's my albatross.
ReplyDeleteI was a cat person until I got a dog. Now I'm both. I love that my dog always loves me, and I love that my cats always expect me to serve them. Which I do. Because HRH is correct. Cats are Gods and should be treated accordingly.
ReplyDelete:)
Dogs are friendlier. Cats more deceptively find and snuggle in your heart. That said, thank goodness I don't have either!
ReplyDeleteI don't know any bird people.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
These are so funny, especially "my cat is getting married that weekend." I used to work with someone who gave a birthday party for her dog every year.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie

ReplyDeleteBeen both. Both are equally obnoxious from time to time. Both are great, though.

ReplyDeleteHaHa,Ha..still laughing..I am a dog and cat person..Cats are easier...
ReplyDeleteAhh ha ha ha these are great.
ReplyDeleteI do love cats, but their dander doesn't love me. ahhhhh-CHOO!
ReplyDeleteAll so true! LOL! Big Hugs!
ReplyDeleteCats are cool creature. Terrible and sharp-clawed, but very cool. And dogs are sweet.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! I love these. And there can never be enough "evil" cat jokes :)
ReplyDeleteI've had both and like them both.
ReplyDeleteVery funny, but my favorite was about missing the dog's silly birthday party for the cat's wedding! Haha!
ReplyDeleteJulie
So true! I never wanted to be a mom so I have always been a cat person. I identify more with independent souls that march to the beat of their own drum.
ReplyDeletei so enjoyed these funnies :)
ReplyDeletebut the last one reminded me my mom ,she was a bird person for almost ten years of her life
I am a dog person who is fond of cats. I'd never thought about bird people that way before.
ReplyDelete"trash gremlin" Suz laughs hysterically.
ReplyDeleteI'm both a dog and cat person, but I just happen to have lots of dogs right now.
Bird people? The weirdest.
Nobody is as crazy as horse people.
ReplyDelete@ Lady M -- You make a valid point! I've known a few horse people in my time and man, horses are their life!
ReplyDeletesigh*..that just makes me miss all my dogs and cats..I've been looking but everytime I think I'll get one or the other I think.I have a trip coming up ..I'll wait till after the trip...so that trips over and now we have a trip to go to the coast..so maybe afterwards..sigh*
