Well, last week's post did not exhaust
the mermaid theme for me.
I need to show you some exquisite
mermaid art by the contemporary
Russian-American artist Victor Nizovtsev.
I love how the light glints off
his mermaids' shimmery scales --
And I love how the artist
has an appreciation for the beauty
is particularly taken with the above photo
because she has a thing
for purrmaids.
The curvaceous redhead is my favorite
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but much like Dolly Parton, mermaids make a day feel happier.
ReplyDeleteI do love mermaids. Was on Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island yesterday. Would love to be here in June for the annual mermaid parade.
ReplyDeleteLOVE mermaids.
ReplyDeleteLove them. I'm right now obsessed with Mermen. I'm desperately looking for M/M fiction with mermen. I have a person in Half Price Books doing research for me. LOL
XOXO
These are wonderful! Both the mermaids and purrmaids! I especially love the curvaceous mermaid with her cat and her teapot.
ReplyDeleteThe globes of light remind me of the John Singer Sargent painting 'Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose.'
Ohhh I love a kitty as a mermaid!!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't be a single fish left if mermaid cats existed
ReplyDeleteLove Victor’s work. It is hard to imagine how he achieved the shimmering effect!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful mermaid art! Love the scales, the reflected shimmer
Aw, the purrmaid. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet HRH is trying on a gold studden mermaid tail now.
Cheers, Debra.
What beautiful art! I like the shimmering scales, their ethereal pelvic fins, curly pearl-studded hair and the artist's appreciation of Rubinesque mermaids!
ReplyDeletePurrmaids? How cute are they? I'm not surprised that HRH is enamoured with their glitzy, jewel-encrusted accessories, but I am surprised that she likes swimming in WATER, LOL!
You can never have too many mermaids {or purrmaids!}
ReplyDeleteAmazing artwork! Nizovtsev's use of color and light is perfection. The purrmaids are adorable!
ReplyDeletePurrmaids!! Who would have thought? I love the one with the rollers in her hair… very classy. Cute post
ReplyDeleteThese mermaids are special, what I will imagine when I think of mermaid now.
ReplyDeleteOh, that Kliban.
ReplyDeleteI love that att the mermaids have curly hair.
Piggybacking on what Adam wrote, a cat mermaid might try to eat its own tail!
ReplyDeleteThose mermaids are beautiful. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt would be very handy to be a purrmaid, you could catch fish a lot more easily than in complete cat form! 😂
ReplyDeleteThe shimmering painted mermaids are so beautiful. I love your little Purrmaid too.
ReplyDeleteBe careful what you wish for! Today's lesson for me was all about Aurora, goddess of dawn. So i quickly went into an internet rabbit hole. Anyway, mermaids are ok i guess.
ReplyDeleteI learned a little about that. You would be surprised about Greek mythology. It is very surprising and detailed.
Mermaids are great. I don't think it is fair, what happened with Titon, but who am i to speak?
I love this so much..
ReplyDeleteI love mermaids. Bit they're much darker than you'd think.
ReplyDeleteCat in the sand posing - best one
ReplyDeletePurrmaids are completely new to me.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Debra !~ The mermaid and purrmaid are definitely irresistible! How could you not bring them home? I can't believe that someone got a cat to pose buried in the sand. That's impressive, and the cat looks so content! Victor Nizovtsev's paintings are striking and lovely. I'll be back to catch up. Take care!
ReplyDeleteI was not familiar with that art but I really love his work. Magical plus size mermaids.
ReplyDeleteDebra, these are gorgeous. I especially love anything with cats in it, so that purrmaid is quite delightful!
ReplyDeleteOf course a mermaid would have a mercat.
ReplyDeletethe Ol'Buzzard
I like the mermaid cats.
ReplyDeleteI have a rather curvy mermaid that hangs in my kitchen window. She adds cheer and happiness to my house.
ReplyDeleteThat purr-maid is too cute! Thanks for introducing me to cool, new-to-me, art!
