Times Are Tough All Over

No one is immune!

Superheroes are also feeling the pinch!

Norse Gods have to take the subway!

Odin the Allfather too!

  1. I'm kinda into the BatVan.

  2. The cat does not look happy. The crow - how do you get a crow to sit like that? Carrying a spear on the subway would likely assure no one would sit next to me.

  3. I need footnotes on the fast food servers??? And I notice how the media refers to that woman as recycling her clothes! To most of us it's called getting dressed. She does have terrific coats though.

  4. That last one cracks me up! The glory of old age!

  5. @ Boud -- That's Chef Gordon Ramsay working at Burger King, and Prince William's wife "recycling" her coat -- how the mighty have fallen!

  6. Very funny! Laughing at Kate Middleton wearing the same coat four times; what has the world come to?

  7. I would have loved to seen you make HRH wear that sign!!!!!! If Im correct she'd slipped a sandwich board on you first?

  8. Was the economy ever good for the non-wealthy? I don't remember.

  9. I wonder where Odin's other crow is - out gathering the news I suppose. Very cool to have gods and superheroes just hanging out and making do.

  10. Imagine being spotted wearing the same coat four times. How mortifying. I guess my life isn’t so bad.

  11. Haha! Love these! Laughed at them all!
Love how the wind from the train blows Thor's cape so dramatically. And, Odin undercover? Nice!

  12. The superheroes in hard times are so good. I showed it to my husband ad he got a really good laugh out of it.

  13. The Hummingbird cracked me up. All are pretty cute, but that hit me.

  14. Well, at least those hummingbirds don't look underfed. --Jim

  15. Them what has, gets... I'm amazed at how clean and bright London's tube trains are!

  16. I don't know if I could get a crow to be my best friend but I could start carrying a spear around.

  17. Seems like a lot of super heroes are looking for work these days.

  18. Ok, the gentleman with the spear and the crow is A MOOD! I wanna be his friend and lace his coffee with bourbon so he tells me stories.
And the Batmobile? I actually want one now.

    XOXO

  22. The old man is Odin in disguise and up to no good that's certain.

  23. I haven't picked up a Spider-Man comic in a while, but one of the major themes used to be Peter Parker's inability to profit from his superhero alter ego (unless he sold photos to Spidey-hating J. Jonah Jameson, who then twisted the news headlines to make the web-slinger look bad.)

  24. OMG, that last one! That's my idea of traveling in style!

  25. Catching up on your posts. Oh, I want to be the old woman on the train with a crow on my shoulder!

I am a very boring tea-drinker. I like mine simple, ordinary 'breakfast' tea with milk and made in a pot.

Your painting is still better than anything I could do.

Are you celebrating St Brigid today?

    ReplyDelete
  26. @ Liz Hinds -- Yes, I'm celebrating Brigid tomorrow with a special poetry post.

  27. Great chuckle on this cold winter day...we are expecting snow and ice by the end of the week! I expect Krogers will sell out of milk, bread and toilet paper. They always seem to short on supply when the weather calls for a blizzard.

  28. Love the Hummingbirds..Good ones as always..

  29. The press is brutal to royals and celebs. They're not allowed to own washing machines

  30. I would gladly give an eye for a spear and a crow.

  31. Imagine that, wearing a coat four times. What is the "born with a silver spoon in the mouth" crowd coming to?

    ReplyDelete
  32. LOL, Debra! These make me laugh. I'm trying not to buy anything I won't wear at least 30 times. The pandemic has certainly helped with my goal. Humor helps with everything!

    ReplyDelete
  33. hahaha you are amazing with your choice of funnies as always dear Debra :)

the hummingbird hahaha all made me laugh .

  34. The poem is so beautiful, and thoughtful. I feel as if the good news isn't published/talked about often which sad.

Also I hope you had a happy Imbolc!

  35. Love these! It has been years now since I have been on a subway. Now I kind of want to travel around a system just to people watch!

    ReplyDelete
  36. The variations of the Batmobile made me giggle. I could see my Darling Eldest wanting the smart car.

    ReplyDelete
  37. That old man with the eyepatch could be Odin in disguise.

    ReplyDelete
  38. HAHA! Yes, if the cat is working, times have to be VERY tough. And I wouldn't mind hanging out with a crow.

  39. When I am old, I want to be the person with the crow and the spear on the subway.
