The Middle Ages in Europe had a time span
of a thousand years (500-1500 CE).
But you know, "people are people."
Were their lives really that different from ours?
One can’t decide whether to join the Bard’s College or the Thieves Guild.
One will just have to weigh the prose and the cons.
Such as Lady Dolly of Parton --
Or the Mother of Monsters, Lady Gaga --
[These medieval covers by Hildegard von Blingin'
are described as "Bardcore for the discerning clergyman,
noble, or muck-gathering peasant."
Many thanks to Miss Cellania, whose blog introduced them to me!]
Very funny gifs. I like the bardcore. Blackmore’s Night creates similar music and it is very good.
ReplyDeleteThese are so good. Especially the cat and the palace guard!
ReplyDeleteOMG Yes, to the cat and drawbridge one!!! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteThat must have been an ancestor of our cat.
ReplyDeleteI'll be doing medieval Bad Romance all day. For that, I will thank you, while my co-workers curse you@
ReplyDeleteYou may have outdone yourself with this one.
ReplyDeleteApart from the kitty and her will to keep that door open, I laughed at all the memes. Oh yes.
But Bad Romance and Jolene as medieval covers? I have never. I felt like my Little John needed his Robin Hood.
I'm slow clapping right now.
XOXO
Cute, and the cat will find a way.
ReplyDeletethe cat and the castle - YESSSSSSS!
ReplyDeleteOmg....they didn't do that to those songs!!! And poor cats....they never catch a break.
ReplyDeleteThat was the scariest thing about the Middle Ages -- the brutal pun-ishments.
ReplyDeleteOh that cat!!!
ReplyDeleteCastle cat wants in, castle cat wants out....the reason maces were invented, LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Deb -- I needed some good laughs this morning!
These are so funny and I think that one is my cat! :D
ReplyDeleteApparently, that's why cat and dog doors were invented. --Jim
ReplyDeleteYou always come up with the best.
ReplyDeleteThe songs were really pleasant and relaxing to listen to - a reminder that life goes on beyond the insanity of society. Personal love and pain...
ReplyDeletethe Ol'Buzzard
These are all so good. I stole them including the videos. I'm sending them to a friend who happens to love all things Medieval. She's going to love the videos for sure.
ReplyDeleteLove the medieval versions of the songs.
ReplyDelete"Sir Cumference" gave me a hearty chortle.
ReplyDeleteThis music (I'm listening now) is hypnotic, very soothing.
The Britney Spears!!! Ha! Thank you :D
ReplyDeleteCats do not like a closed door.
ReplyDeletethe Ol'Buzzard
Medieval style covers - what a great idea.
ReplyDeleteI'm a medievalist and I find them very funny. I've listened to these medieval(ish) style covers and sonetimes I find them better than the original ones.
ReplyDeleteBardcore? Verily, I am slayeth.
ReplyDeleteThe Ol' Buzzard is right about cats - they don't like a closed door.
ReplyDeleteAnd, like Brewella, I, too, am slayeth!
Excellent memes.
You can count on a cat making it into any joke.
ReplyDeleteOur dog does the opposite of the cat. We let her out, she goes down the two steps, turns around, and wants back in.
ReplyDeleteI love bard core! LOL, I was going to ask if you had heard any before I saw that you had added one. I really enjoyed the Smells Like Teen Spirit version I heard. Also, anyone know where I can get a distancing rodde for ye plague?
ReplyDeleteOh I like Jolene!
ReplyDeleteThat letting the cat in only for it to want to go out again is very familiar. George has taken to woofing to go out the front door then woofing to come in the back door. I think he just does a quick circuit to irritate me.
So funny. Prose and Cons, good.
ReplyDeleteThe Norman tapestries take on a whole new meaning.
The round table and the cat are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteMy grandson is majoring in medieval history. I'll have to pass one of these on to him!
ReplyDeleteThe one with the cat! BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteIn E-flat no less !!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra, great fun! You did mention Bardcore on my blog. Now I will have to find and subscribe on YouTube! Thank you for that!
ReplyDeletethe cat one..hahahaha
ReplyDeleteHow you find these funnies, Debra) I don't know. So much fun!
ReplyDeleteThey need to invent the cat flap 😜
ReplyDeleteGive the cat a pill and the drawbridge one just slayed me.
