Perfect! Favorite is the cooking show commentary. Instant expertise, regardless of actual experience. As in sports stuff. We know all about gymnastics and double pikes. Real life: one day I'll do a complete somersault..
They opened a "wine" bar here in Smallville, and a friend told me they had charcuterie. Then she showed me the charcuterie. Ham and cheese in a plastic to-go box. I said, "That's a lunchable."
I don’t know where you find these! Cooking Mac & Cheese without reading the instructions on the box? That was ME. And I really did think I was hot shit!
Those are great Debra!!! :) The Bob Ross one had me giggling...I LOVED him. I have all 28 seasons of The Joy of Painting. I saw a documentary of his, he used to be a drill sergeant in the army, can you imagine???? "Now, drop quietly and give me fifty...you made a little happy accident there, but that's why pencils have erasers.".... LOL
@ Parnassus (Jim) -- Lunchables are pre-packaged little slices of meat and cheese with crackers. They're very popular in kids' lunch bags. Not the healthiest of lunches perhaps, but kids have fun assembling them into (essentially) hors d'oeuvres.
The late Bob Ross was a PBS star in the 1980s and 90s. His program taught people how to paint landscapes. His style and mannerisms were exceedingly kind, gentle and quiet. Sort of like Mr. Rogers. He would paint "happy little trees" and "happy accidents." Bob Ross is now a popular meme on the internet.
@ Rain -- Bob Ross was a DRILL SERGEANT? Wow, talk about going from one extreme in a career to another! I can scarcely imagine him with a drill sergeant persona.
Hi again, I remember seeing Bob Ross before, now that you have explained, but I didn't know he was still a "thing." The lunchables sound horrible! --Jim
I am definitely not the lunchables generation; however, I loved to sneak cold cuts and cheese as snacks. My Mom would get so upset with me! Growing up, we were on a strict budge -- ham was expensive and was meant only for my dad. Us kids got bologna and cheese, or left overs as sandwiches like kielbasa sandwiches or Italian sausage sandwiches.
These days I will often buy cold cuts and cheese just for snacking ... not because I'm trying to be fancy, but because I can.
Lunchables? I had to think a bit about that one. I think back in my ancient time childhood we called them cold cuts. Love the bee and whipped cream ones.
Good one's, Mac and cheese to a new level.
ReplyDeleteSo true about the lunchables.

ReplyDeleteServing size? Whose appetite is that based on? Certainly not mine.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of lunchables.
@ Liz Hinds -- Maybe they're sold under a different name in Britain? Or maybe you've just been spared Lunchables altogether!
ReplyDeleteHmmm - think I'll try that omelet!
ReplyDeleteThese are so funny! I really had to laugh about the charcuterie board since that's basically how we've been eating all summer lol!
ReplyDeleteIf you don't think Reese's Peanut Butter Cups aren't a choking hazard then just try eating one without peeling off the paper liner first.
ReplyDeleteThe omelette one would be more convincing if the memer had spelled "omelette" properly.
Too funny! And thanks for stopping by ~
ReplyDeleteOh, the poor male bee...bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd that is so me with the whipped cream too. But I like that whipped cream has, huh... multiple purposes.

Thanks for clearing up the origin of charcuterie via the Lunchables generation! ROFLMAO!
ReplyDeleteI had to look up charcuterie. I did not have to look up lunchables.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so awesome. Bake off has obviously stretched it boundaries.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the last one about launchables.
ReplyDeleteLet's hear it for Reese's peanut butter cups. Gawd, I haven't had one of those for so long I'd probably be annihilated at the first bite.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new govenor general!
ReplyDelete@ bobbie -- Thanks! Yes, Mary Simon is awesome and it's long overdue for Canada to have an indigenous Governor-General!
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious! The mac and cheese one is so funny!
ReplyDeletexoxo

ReplyDeleteThose last few answered a lot of my questions since I don't get out much. Thanks for that!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 8 or 9, I got to see Jerry Lewis perform live, and one of his jokes was, what is a doughnut? A pregnant Cheerio.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I gave my colleagues the mac and cheese recipe I have no later than today. It's the best mac and cheese.
ReplyDeleteWho the hell puts a tub of parmesan cheese in their laptop bag? :D
ReplyDeleteThe Ross and Ramsey one is freaking hysterical!
ReplyDeleteJust catching up. Good ones, especially the Mac and cheese. Not being a Mac fan, I can truly laugh at it
ReplyDeleteI'll take that omelette, please! I am sick of heart healthy food! Have a great rest of the weekend, Debra!
ReplyDeleteThe Bob Ross and Gordon Ramsey joke...BAHAHAHAHA!
