I didn't know about Gritty, Debra. He's certainly fun. I had to Google who the Avs' mascot is, because I didn't know that either. It's Bernie, the St. Bernard. Gritty is definitely more compelling and fun.
My first queer friend and mentor was a lesbian. We met in college and she helped me out of the closet. (And we're friends to this day.) In my early gayby years, it was my lesbian and bi-women friends who accepted me, made me feel safe and loved, and taught me to be proud of who and what I was.
OMG
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! And Gritty is a friend of JVN?
I'm a fan!
XOXO
Well, he got my vote when I saw the rainbow flag.

ReplyDeleteOh, gritty. I hope you don't scare the kids, because there's clearly a lot of heart in there.
Gritty's great, but I'm a Gainer girl, LOL!
