I did another graphite drawing course in September-October called "Drawing Animals in Pencil." These were all drawn freehand, although I did grid the original kitten and moose photos for extra guidance on positioning. Shading was done with my favourite trio of 2B, 4B and 6B pencils. I enjoyed the course and am happy enough with my results.

Love!
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I like when people post their art.
And I think that if one were to draw that kitty from a live model, one would need nerves of steel! LOL
XOXO
Brilliant - you have a real talent Debra.
ReplyDeleteI think pencils for art are awfully underrated, I love the look of them. And I must say for not being a artist, these look amazingly good and it's amazing the detail you get just from pencil. You ought to feel proud.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful, Debra. I didn’t see live gannets this year. They are incredible creatures! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteGreat work, such a sweet little kitty,
ReplyDeleteNice work. Wish I could find a hobby/interest other than cooking.
ReplyDeletewow Debra..those are really good...you have so much talent.
ReplyDeleteSo good, Debra. Some of these are really detailed. If I drew them, people would say, What is it? Oh, it's supposed to be that?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Wow! You are really talented ... thanks for sharing the pictures with us!
ReplyDeleteThis is a terrific gallery of drawings. I do love grayscale and you are getting movement and mood going so well.

ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
These are all great! And, I really like the Grumpy Kitty.
ReplyDeleteLove them.
ReplyDeleteMoose? Polar bears? Llamas? It is so nice of you to sketch these portraits of your backyard wildlife.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your next art class going to be?
you are very talented! i love that moose.
ReplyDelete@ Old Lurker -- I just finished a "line and wash journal" course (permanent ink and watercolour). This week I started a "drawing faces in perspective" course, and next week I start another one that uses coloured art pencils on black paper. Busy, busy, busy! What can I say -- it keeps me off the streets.
ReplyDelete@ jaz@octoberfarm -- The moose is my fave too!
ReplyDeleteWell done!! You should be very proud of yourself!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh these are stunning. Just stunning.
ReplyDeleteYour second career is ready to take off.
ReplyDeleteAll your drawings are well done. Being a Canuck, I must admit that my faves are the polar bear and moose, eh!
ReplyDeleteThank you, those are very nice. I like birds, so the gannets get a star. I also like llamas and moose, so they get a star.
ReplyDeleteThis way of drawing is fascinating to me. One of my brothers can do it. It is a cool and excellent skill. Everybody gets a star!🌠because it is a nice thing.
These are fantastic sketches! You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteYou have a gift. I need you here to inspire me to get back to art!
ReplyDelete@Debra: Thank goodness for art. I can only imagine the kinds of mischief you might get up to on the streets. I have heard all about those lesbian street gangs. Snow forts! Street brawls! Stealing memes out of people's backyards! Fundraising for the UCP! It is best to keep you busy with pencil and paper.
ReplyDeleteI like the moose. You didn't want to do its legs and feet, so you put it out to pond.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that grumpy kitten.
ReplyDeleteOh I’d love to draw. Yours are amazing
ReplyDeleteSo gifted
Deb, these are just amazing! You are very talented, and I appreciate your sharing these with us.

ReplyDeleteO.M.G. These are so good. I don't have a darn bit of talent and I am so jealous. I especially love the Moose. Why? Because I don't think I've ever loved a picture of a Moose before.
ReplyDeleteWOW you have talent mate!
ReplyDeleteKeep on shining my friend.
Love
