Did you know that you
can PAINT with coffee?
I just took a fun class where we
drew and painted these cartoon critters
using light, medium, and dark
concentrations of instant coffee
(plus Sharpie markers for the outline
and for any non-sepia colours!)
The technique is essentially the same as
painting with watercolours!
Bonus: your painting smells good
while you're doing it!

That first one is so me.
ReplyDeleteAnd coffee art? Not only can you look at it, but the aroma is amazing!
Without coffee, I lack personality.
ReplyDeleteI've done fabric painting with coffee on silk, then embroidered it. It's a range of lovely colors.
ReplyDeleteOMG ... the coffee ☕ pictures are just too cute!
ReplyDeleteWell, I did enjoy the memes, too! My Sunday morning cuppa, besides the 2 cups I did have!!!
Coffee the broth of the gods
ReplyDeleteI love coffee so much. I must have it as soon as I get out of bed. I love having a cup of coffee in the morning when it is quiet and I listen to relaxing music or in the warm weather open the windows and listen to the birds. It's my Zen Coffee Hour! After that I can face the world. Your coffee paintings are so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt gives me palpitations. I'd be like the horse.
ReplyDeleteI drink decafe but now I know I can't do without that morning cup--- or 4.
ReplyDeleteEspecially after a good rock climb!
:)
I love the sign regarding the Trip Advisor comment. Some people...
Love the coffee art! It would be a sheer waste of coffee if I tried that. I had my first cup today since getting five teeth pulled Friday. I'm talking ambrosia!
ReplyDeleteCoffee is my elixir of choice to face the day. I'd fail the coffee art class for sure because I'd drink the "paints"... and I also run with scissors!
ReplyDeleteThe first one puts into words exactly how I feel some days. Your coffee art is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHello Debra, I love your coffee art, although those animals do not look wide awake despite being full of caffeine. Perhaps you used decaffeinated.
ReplyDelete--Jim
Your coffee art is fabulous! Have you always painted? Very talented woman😘😘😘
ReplyDeleteI miss coffee! But I don't miss the headaches. Thank goodness for tea, the alternate caffeine delivery system
ReplyDeleteLove the coffee memes, though!

Instant coffee? How gauche. Everyone knows only French-pressed steamed coffee from Arabica beans grown organically then pooped out by endangered dolphins are required to get the best color tones. But I will admit you did an admirable job, especially given inferior materials.
ReplyDeleteLove the coffee art. :D
ReplyDeleteThe shades of brown you created really fit the subject matter.
Coffee can't cure my cold, but I'm still drinking loads of it anyway. ;)
The Tripadvisor comment probably doubled that guys business.
ReplyDeleteHow to confess I am down to two cups...a week. Please don't hate me. They simply are the two cups someone else brews for me.
ReplyDelete@ Deedles -- Five extractions? Yikes! I hope your mouth heals up soon.
ReplyDelete@ Old Lurker -- Seriously, I despise the taste of French press coffee. WAY to strong for me! Gimme a cup of instant ANY day over that!
ReplyDeletedrink tea.
ReplyDeleteI usual drink coffee between super medium to dark.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe.
I used to drink 9 cups of coffee a day. I had to quit it recently due to its effect on my blood pressure and tremor. This is making me so nostalgic about drinking coffee!
ReplyDeleteSeconding the healing vibes for Deedles. Five extractions is no joke.
ReplyDeleteI actually have a Pepsi in the morning. Before you judge, it's got caffeine!
ReplyDeleteA Long Black for us..but only two a morning!!
ReplyDeleteCoffee is a good dyestuff
Hate coffee. Love the coffee art!
ReplyDeleteCoffee art! I love it. That one lady on Trip Advisor with the worst coffee of her life, funny.
ReplyDeleteCoffee, debauchery and mayhem! I could get talked into that!
ReplyDeleteLOL- I live on coffee....wake up with a pot and drink it all day. Black for me. Unless I go to Starbucks and then I have a SF latte with no foam. lol. I saved that trip advisor one to use at some point. OMG-TOOOO funny! Your drawings are fabulous. You are a really good artist.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful rest of the week- Hugs- Diana
Love your coffee art..You are really good..I'll have to try that! Hope you are having a fun day!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Tripadvisor notice. Now for a mid-afternoon cup of coffee and I'll do something...
ReplyDeletecoffee is nice but addiction is a dangerous thing you know :)
ReplyDeleteThese resonate with me as I enjoy my third cuppa Joe.
ReplyDeleteYour art work is fantastic, Deb! Bravo!
Scratch and sniff art!
ReplyDeleteI rate coffee like I do champagne; when its good, its very good and when its bad, its awful. There is no inbetween.
ReplyDeleteI saw a video once of a woman mixing coffee into her house paint
ReplyDeleteI hate coffee.
ReplyDeleteI love your coffee art. I'm at the age where I can only drink decaf coffee.
ReplyDeleteThe paint studio must have smelled heavenly that day!
ReplyDeleteGood post as usual.
ReplyDeleteI will certainly have to check out painint with coffee. Interesting!
A perfect post for this coffee addict, Debra! Thanks. I'm that trotting horse ~ lol!
