Across the Universe

Warp speed, Mr. Sulu!

Take me to a galaxy far, far away --

I must bring its magic back to Earth --

And transport it all over the world --

Because it is once again

  1. Apparently there is a big gay pride march organised for today. That’s why the trains are not striking and will resume union action tomorrow. I think it’s lovely. Solidarity

  10. Hello Debra, I'm sure you'll outdo yourself this Pride Month, and what's more I'll get to see it this time! By the way, I would hate to be that truck driver--reminds me of the twisting roads in West Virginia.

  11. This year after all the conservative meltdowns and backlashes goes to prove we have a lpng way to go.

They said it was "about the children."

But Dylan Mulvaney became a trans woman after reaching adulthood. Her face was not on every can or case of bud light. A beer company simply associated themselves slightly with a trans person and look at the rage.

Just remember when they say" I don't care they're gay... But" it's always a horrible statement immediately afterward

  21. We are not a fad, or a month, or a Pride Festival. We are not merchandise. It is something we do as humans.
Pride Month makes me anxious, because i fear the backlash.
I am a gay old man, a confirmed bachelor, not the "marrying kind".
In my society, there is a place for this. There is a difference between what people say and what we do.

    I welcome Pride Month!

  22. Someone mentioned solidarity in their comment. Exactly. Tired of the people who don't understand how solidarity equates with humanity.

  31. Happy Pride Month, Debra! I dearly love Mr. Sulu and George Takei even more. What an amazing human being he was. He certainly overcame his childhood stint in the Japanese interment camp in the US. Equality is not rocket science. Children have to be taught to hate.
