Pride Demons, Unite!

The very latest slur that haters have devised
for the LGBTQ+ community
is "DEMON" based on
this particular bit of what passes
for cleverness among them --

Is that the BEST
they've got?

Sheesh.

It didn't take long, of course,
for our mocking retorts
to come rolling in --

A queer trans artist
immediately reclaimed the slur
in classic LGBTQ+ fashion --

How about some
theological counterpoints
to specifically offset the slur's
anti-trans agenda?

And here's my favourite
response so far!
(from a Tumblr blogger/artist)

DID YOU KNOW? A group of Pride demons is called a Parade!

So as this year's
TRANSLESBIGAYAPALOOZA
comes to an end,
thanks for celebrating with me!

And don't lose heart
in an increasingly hostile
environment . . .

  6. Ohhh
    That's a shirt I'd like to have!
And I love how people just mock these idiots mercilessly on social media when they come up with some stupid shit like this.

I also really like the Don't Panic/ Organize! one. Yes.

    Happy Pride!

  7. Totally off topic...that last one reminds me of my (Italian) grandmother. When the butcher tried to be friendly with her by greeting her with "Che se dice?" (What do you say?) She would reply with a rhyming retort, "Le pesce mangia l'alice" (The fish eats the anchovy) which left the butcher at a loss for words because he really didn't understand Italian.

  8. Pride month in the uk has been fabulous. I’ve seen so many parades. The people all came out to support each other. It was heartwarming

  9. I was thinking, why is there so much anger towards people who are claiming their own lives and their own bodies and then realized, it's because they are claiming their own lives and their own bodies.

  10. Who the hell listens to Christians? You have to be dumber than a rock to believe in an immaculate conception, Satan, angels and demons.

  21. I find it no more credible than a book of Greek mythology, but I DO own a Bible (revised standard version) and just now looked up that particular passage. God is bragging to Job about how he created the "leviathan", thought to be an ancient word for "crocodile". The Devil is indeed mentioned in the Book of Job, but as a gambler not a groomer (and can you guess who he makes his bet with?)

  25. The negative connotation of demon comes from Christian negative doctrine. Own it, it'd make a brilliant t-shirt 🌈❤️

  27. Too much Hate going around these days and I think those Hate filled who call themselves Christians are the worst. I found the responses hilarious, it's always such Fun to mess with the Haters.

  31. One of my favorite Fracture Fairy tales is Hansel and Gretel where Gretel asks the witch if she's any good such as summoning demons. The witch lets out 'hey you demons!' only to summon a bird.
