Cribbage, Tiger Tiger, Back Scratchers and Marvel

Welcome to my "Vacay Edition" of Weekly Roundup! While visiting my sister, we didn't get up to too many shenanigans but instead had a quiet and enjoyable visit. Here are a few hilites --

I got my ass whupped at cribbage. I only managed to win a measly couple of games.

A special treat was going for some yummy tiger tiger ice cream! This is a Canadian delicacy consisting of orange ice cream with a black licorice swirl. I've written previously about tiger tiger here.

I finally found and bought a replacement back scratcher for my old one which broke about 6 months ago! Victory is mine!

And I scored an awesome new Marvel t-shirt! (And before you ask -- no, I haven't seen the just-released Deadpool & Wolverine movie yet! I'm waiting until it streams on Disney+).

  1. Can’t wait to see the movie. Love the shirt!

  2. I used to play Cribbage back in the day and loved it. I don't know why I stopped ...
That looks like an industrial strength back-scratcher; should last a good long while.

  3. ...black licorice is an acquired taste that I never acquired!

    1. I like the sweeter versions of black licorice but not the hardcore stuff.

  4. Glad you had a good break! Oh yes, I need a back scratcher! Clothes hangers don't work perfectly. But no, no, no, to liquorice in ice cream.

    1. Bears resort to scratching their backs against a tree. I was almost to the point of resorting to that when I found my new back-scratcher!

  5. Good to see you back. I used to play cribbage with my Dad as a kid. I don't think I ever won a game.

    1. I learned how to play when I was a kid too. It's a big game on the Canadian prairies. The Maritimes too, I believe.

  6. I'm glad you had a good visit with your sister. As for cribbage, I think I've played it twice in my life. I may be a little competitive and I might hate losing:)

    1. Cribbage CAN be a blood sport, it's true, if you take it too seriously.

  7. Welcome back! Glad you had a good time with your sister. Oh, back scratchers ... what would we do without them? We just saw the new Deadpool movie a couple of days ago. The rest of the family knows more about the whole Marvel industry than I do, but I still thought it was funny. -Jenn

    1. It certainly helps to know all the preceding Marvel backstories, but all you really need to enjoy Deadpool is a dirty mind and a love of cartoon violence.

  8. After I saw the Deadpool/Wolverine boy band opening on YouTube, I'm itching to see this movie as well.

    1. You cannot survive in a dry climate without a good back-scratcher!

  10. I am not sure why you would need a backscratcher, given the long lineup of buxom butch lesbians eager to do the job for you? Nonetheless that is indeed a rawther victorious picture.

It's nice you were able to visit your sister in between the circuit parties.

  12. I don't know if I realized it was licorice, but I'm sure I've had ice cream that looks like that in the past. Anyway, welcome back. You've been missed.

  14. That is so kind of you to let your kid sister win at Cribbage. I NEED that tiger tiger ice cream. If we had that here, we both might be tempted to have it every day. My mouth is actually watering. We have telescoping back scratchers. SG couldn’t live without one. He’d love the big “hand size” of yours. I’m waiting for Deadpool & Wolverine, but will have to watch it by myself I think. And I’m sorry your vacay is over, but I’m so happy you’re back!

    1. I knew an alternative name is "tiger tail" but I didn't know it was Toronto-centric! Thanks for that info, Joyce.

  36. That is one extra superior back scratcher!

  37. Welcome back. I've not played crib in years. It was a favourite with my late father.

  38. It's good to know that I am not alone with a sometimes itchy back in a spot that is impossible to reach - now I need a back scratcher too.

    ReplyDelete
  39. No worries when you've got a good back-scratcher!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I've never played cribbage or had Tiger Tiger ice cream! I also remember when I didn't need a back scratcher, you know, back when the shoulders could maneuver around better. 🤣 Time with your sister sounds like a lovely respite all the way around.
