...English is such a marvelous language. May it not rain on your parade, take the reins and get things done and let's hope the Trump's reign is short. Have I miss one?
Then there’s the Southern woman and the aristocrat woman next to one another on a plane. Southerner: So, where y’all from? Aristocrat: Where I’m from we don’t end a sentence with a preposition. Southern woman: So, where y’all from, bitch?
🤣 All of them are perfection! When I saw the words "Schrödinger's Douchebag," I instantly knew it would be a spot-on definition of #47!! And here we are!! 🤨
I love all of these but the drama dots and Hangman win! I have changed my judgy behaviour about the way humans use language. It's about communication, not rules. Rules are gatekeepers and exclusionary - but clarity should, indeed come first.
Drama Dots. I love that! (I think I overuse exclamation points.) I love all of these. I was giving a friend English lessons and she expected me to tell her WHY we spelled things the way we do. February and Wednesday were top of her list. She learned those words by reading and couldn’t understand why I didn’t say them correctly. Schrodinger's douchebag is so perfect. And Comma Sutra. And pervy uncle jack! I could probably list again everything you shared.
I love drama dots! Can you have favorite punctuation?
ReplyDelete@ Boud -- Mine is exclamation points!
DeleteUncle Jack. uncle jack....that floored me.
ReplyDeleteLove these! Spelling is so easy these days.

ReplyDeleteI, too, love drama dots ... and the comma sutra and the idea of a public execution for those who cannot spell.
ReplyDeleteSchrodinger's douchebag is eerily accurate. I'll have to remember it. Thanks for the laughs this morning:)

I'll bet Wednesday Addams was the person who put that first "r" in February. That or HRH?
ReplyDeleteYou are just way too cool with these. Love em all.
ReplyDeleteI must say, I think I sometimes make mistakes spelling February.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the hangman is kinda scary as a game.
ReplyDeleteAnother good collection.
ReplyDeleteI used to need to look up spelling in the dictionary. Now, Google tells me.
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered why February and Wednesday are spelled the way that they are.
ReplyDeleteDrama dots, lol.
