Hi Debra, These are great, but the art-theft one was funny-sad. I do not agree with art theft or vandalism to make a political statement, or for any other purpose. I recall at the time officials explained that The Scream was a particularly fragile painting which could not stand much handling or abuse.
By the way, marble mining is a big industry here, and small, highly-patterned pieces of marble are commonly framed as art. I bought an example that looks exactly like The Scream, anticipating Munch by millions of years, and proving the dictum that there is never anything truly original in the world. --Jim
i dunno what it must feel like to be famous for one thing amongst your entire catalog.... i wonder if it was munch's favourite or whether he would prefer to be known for summat else?
