St. Michael's Tower on
Glastonbury Tor, England --
National Carpet Museum
in Baku, Azerbaijan --
I wish I knew where this is,
but I bet it's outside a library --
People think the Great Pyramids of Giza
are in the middle of the desert, but really
they're right on the outskirts of Cairo.
Thanks, urban sprawl!
Wow! Every photo shows unique shape beyond our imagination. I love the last video especially.
ReplyDeleteLove these. The last one is my favourite! There are days I would like to be able to fly away, especially when I see the news.
ReplyDeleteThese are incredible. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you... calming.
ReplyDeleteIt always amazes me to think of the pyramids as being on the edge of Cairo.
ReplyDeleteI did a Google search on the Book Benches and it appears they are in Bulgaria?
@ Bob -- Thanks for the info re Bulgaria. D'oh, I should have thought of doing that!
DeleteThere is so much beauty in the world
ReplyDelete...all of these are neat, my favorite is the benches.
ReplyDeleteVery cool.
ReplyDelete🤔 At first, I applauded the ice sculpture and moved on. When I returned, slowed myself, and considered it fully...wow! Of course, it is coincidence. Yet, to consider how the right amount of snow and sleet had to land on the right spot; the sun and the cold had to alternate; the winds had to blow, but not too much; and the tree had to stay still in its pose 😉 fills me with wonder! The randomness of the universe is not frightening...it's way kewl!! 🤩🥰
ReplyDeleteTime share... LOL. Wash those suckers or get extra protein. 😎
ReplyDeleteThe thing I miss most about the East Coast: Fireflies. Or, as we used to call them, Lightening Bugs.
Love these!
ReplyDeleteThere is a cool way to do clouds like that photo of the sunsets. It looks like a particular time lapse composite I've done.
ReplyDeleteI may even try it today in the regular daylight to do something artsy!
Thank you for these today, I needed them!
It may not be elegant, but I do like those book benches.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a firefly in real life, but I would love to see one. And sit on those benches.
ReplyDeleteThat carpet museum! and the frozen 'bird'!
ReplyDeletegreat collection of pics - i was surprised how close the pyramids were to Cairo.... you could see them quite easily from the hotels..... AND just nearby, of course, there's fast food restaurants and stuff......
ReplyDeleteMy two favorites are the mushroom which I love looking at the under caps anyhow because they're so cool, I love the last one with the lightning bug leaving. In the summer when I'm sitting out in the garden I love catching them and letting them walk around my hand before they take off.
ReplyDeleteHi Debra, These are remarkable photos--a reminder that I need to sharpen my photography skills. The ice bird looks a little AI, but then I have seen icicles take some strange forms. The book benches are fun, but look uncomfortable. Poor Mariette would have liked the first one.

Such beautiful photos! Love the rug museum.
ReplyDeleteThank you for increasing beauty in the ether... we need it!
Those were great. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThe benches as an open book, I love it. It's very creative. Nice post!
ReplyDeleteLove that ice bird!!!!! For a second I was like "whut?" then I saw it.
ReplyDeleteLove the mushroom. And I did NOT know the pyramids were THAT close!!!
XOXO
What a lovely & much-needed palate cleanser -- thanks, Sporticus!
ReplyDeleteWhoa!! That firefly is magically shot!!! And all the lovely pics. Bugs do have very scenic weddings.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the mushroom cap! TFS ~
ReplyDeletebobbie
The book benches are in Burgas, Bulgaria. They are a tourist attraction. I love that mushroom picture.
ReplyDelete@ Leanna -- Thanks for identifying the location!
DeleteI love them all. But especially the book seats and the many sunsets.
ReplyDeleteI might have to take that pic to art class and add it to the, we might paint this list
Beautiful, especially the last one.
ReplyDeleteooooo the firefly
