I LOVE BUNNIES!!! Unfortunately, unless I can keep them in an outdoor hutch, I have just a horrible allergy to them. I had two dwarf bunnies and built them an outdoor 4x4 elevated hutch when I lived in St. Pete. They earned their keep! Their droppings made EXCEPTIONAL fertilizer for my roses and trees!
Sadly, here in RI, out Winters just get too brutally cold and I would not be able to protect them from those elements; that and we have coyotes, foxes, raccoons and fisher-cats in the area that would destroy any hutch to get to them. I wish I was not so allergic...
Hello Debra, A student couldn't pronounce his r's so his teacher gave him this sentence to memorize: "Robert gave Richard a rap in the ribs for roasting the rabbit so rare." The next day he recited: "Bob gave Dick a poke in the side for not cooking the bunny enough."
Sorry to do this to you, but the alliteration in the last one suddenly called this to mind (after I will not admit how many years--so much for Dr. Spo and his temporary memory theories). I checked it on the internet, and apparently thousands of people not only remembered it, but felt compelled to type it into the some website or other. --Jim
You wound me to the core, Shirley, as I am NOT an oversized rat, LOL! Actually, rabbits/bunnies/hares are lagomorphs while rats & mice are rodents. Other than both groups being mammals, they are distinctly separate species.
Where I live we have two in-door bunnies that someone let become outdoor bunnies and they are always hop, hop, hopping about and everyone feeds them. They're now community bunnies. I do have concerns for them in the winter, the owner tried many times to catch them but to no luck. And that's my bunny story for the day.
Grateful for the fascist-fighting rabbits.
ReplyDeleteWe should strive to be bunnies.
ReplyDelete...Debra, the last one takes the prize.

DeleteWhat a DEE-lightful bunch o' bunnies! And I can relate to all of them... except riding a dog while carrying a pet snail on my arm like a falcon.
ReplyDeleteWeirdness must be protected at all costs.
ReplyDeleteI like bunnies, they're are cool and can be very combative.
ReplyDeleteI feel like bunny all the time
ReplyDeleteSadly the last one is true, Bunny!
ReplyDeleteI prefer cute bunnies to psycho ones.
ReplyDeleteThe best one for me is the man or bunny in the moon. I hope it's a bunny, I'd like that.
ReplyDeletethe words 'bunny' and 'rabbit' still make me smile to say out loud.
ReplyDeleteWell, Bugs Bunny is one rabbit who went to the moon in several cartoons, and Marvin the Martian was always there to greet him.
ReplyDeleteAwwww....that first animated image is precious. I want to reach out and pet his head. Beautiful ❤️ post about these gentle and lovely creatures.
ReplyDeleteNot much is softer than a Bunny... and the Baby Bun-Buns are so Adorbs.

ReplyDeleteThanks to grandma I lived my early childhood waiting to see fairies living on the moon 🥹
ReplyDeleteI hate squirrels but when a cottontail moved into my yard I was happy! Go ahead, eat the peas, I guess I planted them for you, little fluffy friend!
