Hi Debra, Coffee lovers would be disappointed in me. I have had some very fancy types, but actually prefer the cheap instant kind that comes in individual packets. And what ever became of coffee percolators, which used to be the standard for good coffee? --Jim
We have a collection of percolators at home, from tiny to very large. It's getting difficult to find the replacement rubber bands for them though (I don't know how they're called in English).
I miss you. We are occupied and we can't go to see you. A few years ago you sent me some moccasins from Canada. I still have them. I call them Ojibwe style, but for all I know, I don't know. We are really suffering down here. It really sucks to be doing this. I hope you are well. My friend is from Belfast. So she has both UK and Ireland citizenship. We were so happy when her oldest son got Canadian citizenship. But now we are so afraid. The young man will be okay, but what if we can't go to help him? What if she gets detained at the border? She has lived here for 30 years and more but still she only has a green card. It is hard to for us.
Hi Richard -- So nice to hear from you again, and I'm glad the moccasins are still with you. Yes, these are dark times indeed. I hope your friend has no trouble returning to the USA after traveling. Hopefully her age will persuade the border agents to let her through without a second glance. Good luck to her!
I am so scared for them. What if they don't let her back in ? She has lived with us for decades. She's from Belfast and she is a good Irish grandmother. "Just a wee little slip of an old lady" as you could say. She will probably be okay, but it is so scary. We shouldn't have to feel this way. They are going to drive up there to Alberta. That will be no problem. I am worried about her coming back here because she is old, like me. She only has a green card. Because you figure it out. I don't understand. What if I never see my friend again?
It is true that she can do it again. It is impossible to imagine that anyone would detain my friend. But these days she might get captured by the cops. Did I tell you how bad things are with us? I heard that Canadians are not coming to see us this year. It is like having your foot cut off. It is like living in a nightmare. Don't lie to me. We are all waiting for that guy to finally die. We know that there will be instability . I don't know which goddess is in charge of this, but she better hurry up pronto because we could sure use some help. Artemis ,they told me that you are dead.
🫥 Sigh! My procrastination is so severe, I could no longer trust myself to brew some coffee or open a packet or heat up water in time to come alive! I became a pill popper...2 caffeine tablets with my V-8 juice and my liquid yogurt (I can't even bother to pick up a spoon!! 🤪) My last great cuppajoe was at an expensive hotel that had a Starbucks in the lobby. Each morning: order a mocha latte, open the door when it was delivered to my room, take Starbucks to the bathroom with the TV in it already on to the news, drink coffee in the shower! 😳🥳 I have never been so awake!! 🤩
@ Cleora Borealis -- I had a bad experience with caffeine pills while pulling an all-nighter at law school. Too many of them are not good news! I've never taken another one since.
I had to stop drinking coffee for the last year or so. However, the last 2 weeks I have started drinking it again. Like missing an old friend, coffee. LOL
Been a couple of hours but we finally got a coffee at The Gallup Coffee Company in Gallup, New Mexico. And a huge chunk of cinnamon coffee cake! All because of this post!!!
Sadly, I can only have decaf. I used to enjoy 2 or 3 cups of hi-test every morning and maybe more later in the day. Fortunately, I get excellent decaf here and can still pretend.
Goth water, lol! I used to love coffee but it didn't love me back so we broke up. Now I have far fewer migraines. It wasn't the caffeine since I am able to drink black tea... and tea is better than debilitating headaches.
That last one is me, definitely.
ReplyDeleteI do loves me some goth water!!!
👍 yes, I drink a cappuccino every morning and just in afternoon a cup of black coffee☕
ReplyDeleteHahahaha
ReplyDeleteOMG yes. Coffee is just Goth water.
XOXO
Got you on the decaf signal!

@ Parnassus (Jim) -- Yes, percolators have gone the way of the dodo bird, haven't they!

Delete...something that I've NEVER been fond of.
ReplyDeleteLove the surface of that coffee mug and the fact that someone was alert enough to capture a photo of The Coffee Monster's face!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what it says about me that I read this post just after finishing my morning cup.
ReplyDeleteMy niece used to love the smell of coffee and complain it tasted nothing like it!

ReplyDeleteOy! The decaf signal is for real.
ReplyDeleteWe are on the road for some R&R and I can use a good cup of coffee and something sweet to go with it.

ReplyDeleteThe day does not start until I have had my first sip of coffee. Sound advice from Spock.

ReplyDeleteI do drink decaf so there is that. Not a sign of 'help!'. But I like Goth drink. I should call my morning coffee just that.
ReplyDeleteThese are great, Debra. The squirrel is cute.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I can only have decaf. I used to enjoy 2 or 3 cups of hi-test every morning and maybe more later in the day. Fortunately, I get excellent decaf here and can still pretend.
