During this year's Winter Solstice celebration at Stonehenge (when pagans are allowed to freely congregate among the Stones because of their right to freedom of religion), a black cat named Moon also showed up and stole the show! His appearance was taken to be a good omen for the coming year.

Moon is the star of the show and makes it all mystical.
ReplyDeleteI hope Moon is a good omen. We need some good!
ReplyDelete...cats are taking over!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool. I firmly believe that is a sign! I have always felt black cats are actually good luck and a good omen too.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteNote: I am in Google Hell this morning. Posting and comments will be light until I get this stuff sorted out.
Black cat: a great omen
ReplyDeletethe Ol'Buzzard
What a handsome cat!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of Moon sitting atop Stonehenge. That surely looks like a sign!
ReplyDeleteA sign of a great year to come.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE that!!
ReplyDeleteJust another sign that cats rule!
ReplyDeleteHe's moving left to right! That's good luck. Right to left not so much.
ReplyDeleteFrom me as Indonesian, I have my own personal opinion and perspective, black cats are generally not strongly linked to luck, either good or bad. Most Indonesians see cats regardless of color as normal animals rather than omens. In some local beliefs, black cats may be associated with mystery or the supernatural, but this is not a dominant or widely accepted view. In Islamic tradition, which influences many Indonesians, cats are respected animals and are not considered symbols of bad luck. Because of this, many Indonesians treat black cats kindly and practically, focusing more on behavior and cleanliness than superstition or signs of fortune.
ReplyDeleteLaughing at the cat!
ReplyDeleteIt is the crow family that rule the stones. Moon will get a rude awakening once her audience leaves ;)
ReplyDelete🤣🐈⬛ OMG! HRH astral-traveled to Stonehenge?! When the Queen calls a meeting, Pagans obey!! 👑
ReplyDelete@ Cleora Borealis -- D'oh! I should have known!
DeleteHow wonderful, Debra.
ReplyDeleteThis is both hilarious and also not a surprise. Cats do as they please, where they please!
ReplyDeleteall praze dee stone henge goddess!!
ReplyDeleteThat cat surely knew it was the star of the "show" that day. We had several black cats over the years and they were very regal.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cat. He, or she, was lucky they didn't get run over on the motorways surrounding the henge.
ReplyDelete@ Pixie -- Yes, when I visited Stonehenge in 2009, that expressway was very VERY close to the Stones. But I read on the internet that since then, the UK government actually re-routed the expressway further away, which is such a good thing to have done.
DeleteOh my gosh. How fitting. Very cool. Also a place I'd love to go and shoot.
ReplyDeleteNever mind the tea leaves, the omen is clear! Better times are coming!
ReplyDeleteHello Debra, Stonehenge looks uncomfortably crowded with people there. The cat is the only one with any sense.
ReplyDelete--Jim
Ha! Moments like this make me love the internet.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Moon didn't moon his enraptured audience... there are enough A-holes in authority these days!
ReplyDeleteWe need all the good omens we can get right now.
ReplyDeleteJudging by the collar, I'd say some human brought him there.
ReplyDelete@ Catalyst -- Yes, I suspect that, too.
DeleteMoon must have been brought along by one of the solstice revellers. His collar may contain a controlling or location device . Now I see that I am merely echoing Catalyst.
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought it was the Egyptians who worshipped cats!
ReplyDeleteMoon was attracted by the energy I’m sure.
ReplyDeleteI too take it as a good omen. We need all we can get
That does seem to be a good omen for the coming year.
ReplyDeleteThe cat made it perfect.
ReplyDeleteBlack cats are considered good luck in England. We know that is correct! That shot of the cats on top of those ancient stones, I love that.
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny.
ReplyDeleteAwwww...Debra, I love ❤️ the cat 🐈 People are happy 😊 to see him and he shares the same sentiment on seeing them.
ReplyDeleteI have had 3 black cats in my 69 years, two were female, one was male, and they were all beautiful with sweet personalities ❤️
ReplyDeleteAww that is hilarious! I love black cats.
ReplyDeleteThe cat knows how to get attention. :)
ReplyDeleteIn Britain a black cat is considered lucky, but not so in N America.
ReplyDeleteHopefully a good sign. Here's to a wonderful new year.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant
