And now, a carol for all you gay boys out there!
And straight women too, I guess.
We lesbians will just sit this one out.

  1. I may never hear that Paul McCartney song the same. Thank you for that!

  2. The Lumber Jack for Christmas was great. I avoided all commercial radio Christmas music until yesterday when they played it at the gym ... barf!

    I'll take those poinsettias!

  3. A well made fruitcake is a thing of joy. I make my own.

  4. Love the video. I have an aversion to Christmas music this year but I enjoyed that one!

  5. The poinsettias are very cool..but I must protest the slander on fruitcake. We fruitcake aficionadas eat it happily.

  6. I feel for baby Jesus -- as a December baby with aunts giving one present for birthday and Christmas!

  7. ...Debra, thanks for the Christmas cheer!

  8. Good ones. I never thought that way about the Paul McCartney Christmas song.

  9. These are great! I agree with Jamie - I will never hear Paul McCartney in the same light again!

  10. My mum's birthday was on Dec 22nd, I imagine over the years she got a lot of presents that were for her birthday and Christmas. We had an 80th birthday party for her and I found out that she'd never had a birthday cake. For the next eight years, I always made sure that she had a birthday cake. I always bought her two gifts as well.

  11. As always- you have made me laugh. Thank you for that. I've always thought that Paul McCartney Christmas song was the most inane thing in the world but now I UNDERSTAND! Great one, Paul.

  16. Loved the Read before giving book meme. I used to do that but unfortunately not enough people I know read books instead of Kindle. Darn them.

  17. My oldest son was born on December 10th ... birthday and Christmas is always combined! As long as I send enough money, he's OK with it and so is my D-in-L!

  18. I thought the two leg lamp memes were spot on.

  19. Those cookies won't matter if you smoke enough poinsettias!

  20. As always - terrific! The senior leg lamp killed me.

  21. 🤣 OMG! The Gay Men's Chorus of LA did its own cover of the 50's "classic" about a hippopotamus!* I have heard that Gayle Peevey's parents did buy her that hippopotamus and rebuilt part of their house for its comfort where it lived happily for 45 years!
I hope every member of the Chorus got his wish! 🤞🤭

    1. @ Cleora Borealis -- I knew that you, being such a fan of the original, would particularly like hearing this alternative version!

  22. I laughed out loud at the leg lamp for seniors but they're all hysterical! Merry Christmas!

  23. I like fruitcake if it's made well.

  24. I wonder if anyone has thought of a leg lamp as a Halloween costume?

  25. Love love love the lumberjacks!
And am quite glad that I was very successful this year in avoiding Christmas music (except at the dentist - why oh why oh why?).

  26. Great memes, as always! I have a new appreciation for Paul McCartney's weird holiday song. Love the cookie cutter vs oven. They all gave me a chuckle!
And, you are so generous to your gay male readers! I'm glad those giant men didn't hurt themselves or others while swinging their axes so freely...

  27. Never mind Duran Duran. I REALLY want a lumberjack for Christmas! And your Christmas Story lamp!

  28. While I'm not at all disappointed by the sight of all those mostly shirtless men, when I saw that it was "The Lumberjack Song", I expected Monty Python!

    1. @ Kirk -- So did I. But I was glad to discover it was something different and unexpected!
