Sunday Selections #784 -- Colour of the Month: Ocean Twilight

For today's Sunday Selections,
a blog hop party of photography challenges
hosted by River of Drifting Through Life --

I'm fulfilling the Colour of the Month prompt
provided by Charlotte of MotherOwl's Musings.

This month's colour is Ocean Twilight.

Let me just say, in my own defence, that
pickins are slim for this colour around my place.

And I'm not even sure that the items
I found are actually Ocean Twilight
but again, in my own defence, I'm a little
colour blind at the dark end of the spectrum.

Also, my items are boring AF and
I realize there's no defence for that.

1. My Lug Brand Purse

Admittedly, this looks pretty
Navy Blue in the photo, doesn't it?

2. My Night Stand Lamp Shade

Product of IKEA 25 years ago
and it looks it, I must say.

Hmmm, is this Ocean Twilight?

How about if the lightbulb is off?
Does that make it closer to Ocean Twilight?

Hmmm, I don't think so either.

3. Rocket Raccoon Action Figure

Any other fans out there of Marvel's
Guardians of the Galaxy franchise?

I thought Rocket's uniform colour was pretty
close to Ocean Twilight, but now
I think I'm just kidding myself.

Also, Rocket Raccoon can never be
accused of being boring, so I apologize
for using that term in regard to you, Sweet Rabbit.

Please don't shoot me.

Hopefully, I'll do better with whatever
next month's colour will be.

  2. Debra, all eyes will perceive color differently. My eyes see your purse and lampshade as a blue with a lavender tint and some gray. Your Rocket Raccoon is closer to the Ocean Twilight but several shades lighter and leaning towards the lavender-red side of the spectrum. I'm not a "blue" person, but this shade isn't objectionable, a Robin's Egg blue is better for me. To each their own(opinion)

  3. Love your purse 💙, the color of the lampshade is near the cerulean blue; I checked from a color map🤓

  4. I think your IKEA lampshade IS "Ocean Twilight", which looks more purple than navy to my bunny eyes!

  5. Hello Debra, Looking around here I can see quite a bit of that type of deep blue, slightly grayed color, if that is the way to describe it. I have book covers, drinking glasses, my computer case, a book case, tea towels, and so forth.

By the way, what is in that white dish next to the lamp--my best guess is some kind of sleeping goddess figure.

🤨 You will not find blue, of any name, in my home furnishings...my eye is just never drawn to it. In clothing: blue jeans, blue compression socks, and 2 t-shirts (one celebrates a John Cleese comedy night I attended and one for Cap'n America 🇺🇸)!
I love the "G of the G" but I am not a collector. That's a good thing because I would have to make room in my home for Peter Quill/Star Lord's Ravager ship, the Milano, and it is BLUE! 😳🤪

  7. I am looking around my office and see no Ocean Twilight and don't think I have any. And I love color!

  8. I have nothing that colour. Lots of red though.

  9. That's a great color. And it's a good color on Rocket too.

  10. I’d be hard pressed to find ocean twilight around our house. Although I love the color, we tend to avoid shades of blue in decorating. I suppose I could go through my closet and find SOMEthing.

  11. I literally don't have this color anywhere in my house. I'm not a blue person. LOL

  12. I remember colour (as we enter our 7th month of winter, sigh).

  13. I like that lampshade. I have been using a good bit of purple in my printing playtime.

  14. I love that color! To my eye it is a blue very close to purple. But, eyes perceive color differently and computers render them differently so who the hell knows what it 'really' is?
I don't think I have many things in that color but I do wear a lot of purple so maybe some garments are close...

  15. I don't have much blue in my home but I do have versions of Rocket!

  16. Not much blue here either. I wouldn’t mind seeing some blue sky. Jayne

  17. I think your purse is very close to that shade. And I am an old Southern lady, I still call it a "pocketbook". LOL.

  20. What a great idea to pick a color. I'm going to see what I have in that blue.

  21. You got closer to the color than I did. I like the lamp very much.

  22. one time while in Palm Springs some of us (under the influence of cocktails) got into a snit was something cyan or turquoise. To this day whenever a shade of blue arises we go at it again.

  23. I have absolutely no idea what is. I imagine your close
I love rocket. Especially at the end of that last movie where he finally finds out he really is a raccoon

  24. I'll call it purpleish-blue, or maybe bluish purple.

  25. I think all of them are close enough to Ocean Twilight. I love the purse.
