  1. I wear Orange on St. Patrick's Day. There is some history behind that has political and religious significance.

  2. I'm a quarter Irish that must count for something?

The two cats one cracked me up. I'll have a corned beef and cabbage dinner tonight with some ale for dinner me dear.

  5. The four-leaf clover, poison ivy cross... GROAN. (But OK I chuckled.)
No groan for Danny Boy’s phone call. I loved that one!

    1. @ Barbara Rogers -- I believe she lived in what is now Belgium. Needless to say, she is HRH the Cat's favourite saint and I must do a post on her some day!

  9. I've got my corned beef cooked and sliced. Tonight I will reheat half of it and cook cabbage, potatoes, and carrots in the defatted broth.

  17. These were great. Happy St. Patrick's day! I must say the name sign got me. I worked with some Irish folks and their names always stumped me. Well if being honest so did their accent. I told my boss I wish for closed caption under his chin when he spoke.

  18. As a child, I would have loved to live in Ireland, because I was the only redhead for miles around in Vienna. (Besides, I like sheep. And sheepdogs. And green meadows.) But I'm glad I'm not called Saoirse. I read that people gave their newborn daughter that name because they liked the name Saoirse Ronan so much in the credits of some movie—only they always pronounced it wrong...๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ™ˆ
    ๐Ÿ€ Happy St. Patrick's Day ๐Ÿ€

Also, it was MADNESS downtown Chicago this past weekend. I was in town for a conference and it was shenanigans up and down every street.

    XOXO

  35. I really don't get the fuss. So many non-Irish claiming ancestry from way back, especially across the Atlantic. Trouble is the fake celebration is spreading and we have celebrations over here now.
