Say, Whatever Happened to . . . . ?

Did he FINALLY run afoul
of the criminal law?

Actually, Wile E. Coyote took his grievances
to the civil courts instead and sued
the crappy ACME Corporation for
personal injury damages caused by
all its shoddy products!

COYOTE vs ACME?
Oh, I'm looking forward to this movie!

* * * POST UPDATE * * *

Here's the meme that Leanna of
said in the comments that she was going to send me
(love it, LOL, thanks darlin') --

  1. I always hear beep beep. I named my latest car the Blue Ridge Road Runner. Of interest, there are no Road Runner birds in the Blue Ridge mountains. So perhaps she'll be happier to move west eventually.

  8. This is going to be excellent, especially for those of us who grew up watching the cartoon. Plus, it's got shades of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."

  9. Is it so wrong that I always rooted for the coyote when I was a kid? That roadrunner got on my last nerve!

  11. The magazine essay of Coyote v. Acme came out when I was in law school. I found it hilarious. I hope the move does it justice.

    1. @ Anonymous -- Yes, it originated as a "New Yorker" story, I believe.

  14. I thought this might be some sort of hoax ala The Onion, but no, it's a real movie coming out this summer! It must be targeting Boomers... does anyone even watch those old classics anymore?

    1. @ e -- Good point! With all their violence, racism, and sexism, I can't imagine the old Looney Tunes cartoons get much airtime anymore for youngsters today. Besides, they have their own fab cartoon series now!

    2. @ e -- Turner Classic Movies (TCM) acquired the entire original Looney Tunes canon when Warner Bros. was sold. TCM has been airing them in their uncensored state with movies sharing the same themes.

  16. A lot of people are saying it's well worth the wait due to the aggravation that the movie studios inflicted upon it (e.g. shelved it after completion because it made them more money as a write-off than as a potential new release).

    1. @ G.B. Miller -- Well, that explains the joke at the end that the ACME Corporation is releasing this movie "for accounting purposes only," LOL!

  21. I still have the song from The Bugs Bunny Road Runner Hour in my head. LOL
That coyote, he's really a crazy clown. When will he learn that he never can mow him down. Poor little Road Runner never bothers anyone.
Just running down the road is his idea of having fun. BEEP! BEEP!

  22. This is kind of a coincidence, as I have my own Warner Bros cartoons post in the works (though nothing to do with this movie or anything ACME-related.)

Anyway, I've been reading about this movie for years. It's based on a New Yorker "Shouts and Murmurs" humorous piece by Ian Frazer that appeared in the magazine in 1990 or so. The movie adaptation was made a few years ago but then put on the shelf. Maybe Paramount's upcoming purchase of Warner's (or maybe it's the other way around--I get confused) has something to do with Coyote vs Acme finally getting released, though I can't tell you what exactly. I do look forward to seeing it.

    1. @ Kirk -- Yes, apparently this movie has had a long and tortuous path to the big screen. I hope the movie will be a vindication of all who have believed in it over the years!
