Oh glasses. I've needed them for distance since I was 10. AUGH! But I will say I don't need them for close up. My optometrist told me that was rare for someone "my age". OK. It was a complement until they mentioned the "my age" part. :) Have a super FRiday. And nice memes too.
Ahhhhhh, gotta love it. I've had bifocals since I was 18 months old. However, with eye surgery in the stone age I gained lots of sight in one eye and didn't need glasses again until I was 40. But I feel lucky to be able to see the world and all of its beauty. Even if, some days, it is a bit blurred!
π Does that optical shop ever offer BOGO on eyeballs?! π€ π«Ά My aging retinas and I have come to an understanding. I will accept that I have to view the world through cobweb-style floaters and occasional bright flashes and my retinas promise to stabilize and get no worse. π π¨⚕️ Our retina specialist keeps verifying that the truce is working...yay! π
The struggle...no worries about dozens of pairs of glasses lying around- now magnifying glasses are also in the mix. A progressive eye disease creeps in and the world of sight becomes a world under murky water. So, if I see you on the street and I don't acknowledge your existence it is not because I don't love you...it is that you just look like a sock to me.
"Getting older isn't easy. Actually, it's pretty annoying." -- you're preaching to the choir, sister.... the Laser Surgery Centre parking lot did make me LOL though!
OMG I was meeting my BFF this morning in Union Station, it was packed. I thought she was going to be much earlier than me, but I looked around and around and couldn't find her. Finally messaged r u here? No, she was just arriving.
This is hilarious. Especially as I sent a text this morning to my art class saying I wouldn’t be coming in without my glasses on Instead of typing I’ve I typed, or spell check changed it to ivf. I was perplexed when I got a message back saying. Good luck with the IVF When I looked back at my message, this time with my glasses on, I burst out laughing Yes getting old is very annoying sometimes
It's certainly very difficult to grow old, and to have all these difficulties, but I consider it both luck and a blessing to grow older, you have other good things!!
TOOOO funny!!! Love them--I was snickering right out loud to myself and my pup looked at me like "What's up?"...and I could actually SEE her looking at me...lol. Happy weekend- Diana
Dear Debra I felt pretty excited to age because in my perception it might bring some ease being a woman in outside world But since I am moving towards my sixties quickly ( 56 now) it scares me to loose mobility or be dependent physically, I keep praying if God can call me up there before any of this happens π
Love the Macarena one...now that will be going through my head all evening.. I am fortunate to be near sighted in one eye and far sighted in the other so I'm pretty well covered without glasses...

ReplyDeleteLaughing a bit from these clips. So glad glasses were invented (one of those smart scientists!)
ReplyDeleteFriends with benefits, those who can drive us at night- that hits close to home!
ReplyDeleteHahaha
ReplyDeleteMy optometrist suggested transition lenses because I work in front of a computer and I’m dreading that adjustment.
XOXO
If they're properly fitted, transition lenses are way better than tripping over that stupid line in bifocals.

DeleteThe first one just cracked me up.
ReplyDeleteHa Ha, macarena! I never am able to see which is "better or worse" with those eye test things, I think they forget I am cross-eyed and long sighted.
