I finally felt the age thing the other day, when I was talking about Madonna and a young coworker said he thought he knew who she was but wasn't sure. I asked him to name a song and he couldn't.
Almost 20 years ago, I hired a bright young staff attorney, and then she told me I was two years older than her father - I felt old that day - almost 20 years ago.
ππΆ "ABBA: The Movie" * (1977) is my favorite workout tape! I fast-forward past the silly mockumentary storyline. And I do love "Dancing Queen" because she's a bit of a psychopath:
"You're a teaser, you turn them on Leave them burning and then you are gone Looking out for another Anyone will do" [at age 70, even more like a serial killer of the old guys lookin' for love at the disco despite their bad hearts and such π€]
*Rumors abound that Lasse HallstrΓΆm, the director, is going to recut the movie as a true concert film for the 50th anniversary...yes, please!!! π€π«Ά
This entire batch had me laughing out loud, Debra! Every single one of these hits the nail right on the head (especially that poor AARP pup). Getting older is definitely a bizarre ride, but laughing about it with good company makes the creaky joints a lot easier to bear. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
These gave me a good laugh, thank you! I'm sending the Dancin Queen to a couple of friends - we don't get out on the dance floor much any more, but a laugh will do them good as well. The stair lift was hilarious!
Actually, one of those stair lifts looks kind of fun. Even as a kid I might have enjoyed riding one. Anyway, I got my Medicare card in the mail recently, though it's about two months until I'm able to use it.
Oh, God! πππ I loved each and every one of these, Debra! Unfortunately I can relate to them all. I can lift $100 worth of groceries with one hand too! Maybe with 2 fingers. Well, I refuse to admit I'm elderly. I'm a Dancing Queen ... nearly ei-ei-ghty! πππ
I’m at that stage where I notice a couple of “old people” and realize they are probably younger than me!
ReplyDeleteI'm over eighty... And four people bid on me in an auctionπ₯³
ReplyDeleteSnoopy knows what's up!
ReplyDeleteThese are all (well, mostly) so true. No one has bid on me in years.
ReplyDeleteThese are high-larious but Robert De N-Ear-O kinda freaked me out!
ReplyDeleteI finally felt the age thing the other day, when I was talking about Madonna and a young coworker said he thought he knew who she was but wasn't sure. I asked him to name a song and he couldn't.
ReplyDeleteHe got the Dorothy face from me.
It's when you see your wedding gifts offered as antiques! As a new stairglide owner, yes, I'd say everyone should have one! Stairs to nowhere.
ReplyDelete@ Boud -- Hahahaha, yes, that meme was for you! Glad stairs will no longer be an issue!
DeleteIt's quite the moment comes and you suddenly realized you aren't young any more. Grin. Loved these.
ReplyDeleteToo true and too funny.
ReplyDeletePirate used to joke "help the aged" when he was helping people 10 years or more younger than himself at 80!!
ReplyDeleteThese sure hit home!
ReplyDeleteOMG
ReplyDeleteThe AARP doggie!
And De Niro in Taxi Driver? Yes, please.
XOXO
Love the ones with Bugs Bunny and Snoopy. Laughed at the Dancing Queen one.
ReplyDeleteAlmost 20 years ago, I hired a bright young staff attorney, and then she told me I was two years older than her father - I felt old that day - almost 20 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to all of them!
ReplyDeleteAs my husband would say, "I resemble those comments."
ReplyDeleteAnd now everyone may groan. If people think dad jokes are bad, wait for the granddad ones.
Almost all of these hit home with me!!!
ReplyDeletebobbie
Hey, turtles can move pretty damn fast when they want to.

These are hilarious! It's best to confront aging with humor :)

I love these, Debra. So true.
ReplyDeleteThey are all funny except they all remind me I am old ... 83!
ReplyDeleteThese gave me a good laugh, thank you! I'm sending the Dancin Queen to a couple of friends - we don't get out on the dance floor much any more, but a laugh will do them good as well.

Marcia, maybe you'll feel better to know I was in kindergarten when you were born, little whippersnapper!
ReplyDeleteHAHA ha the STAIRS! had me on the floor!
ReplyDeleteDebra, these are great π Lol π π π€£ πΉ
ReplyDeleteI felt old the other day when I saw M*A*S*H on the TV listings and realized that all but 2 or 3 of the main cast members are dead.
ReplyDeletehahahaha these were great. The turtle. No stairs. 100 bucks of groceries. lolololol. Good stuff, thanks.
ReplyDeleteI would feel lucky if 3 people bid on me.
ReplyDeleteYeah, all of these hit close to home, being 61, but the turtle realistically moves faster than I do.
ReplyDeleteActually, one of those stair lifts looks kind of fun. Even as a kid I might have enjoyed riding one. Anyway, I got my Medicare card in the mail recently, though it's about two months until I'm able to use it.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I haven't contemplated them much for decades, suddenly I just became quite self-conscious about my ears, lol.
ReplyDeleteOh the power of advertising- Stair lift chair with no stairs! I'm often surprised to find I am in the elderly range, because I don't feel old.
ReplyDeleteI’m launching a new website called “Older Fans.” I post today’s injury and the completely normal and ordinary thing that caused it.
ReplyDelete@ Bilbo -- Hahahaha, you wag.
DeleteSomeone thought I was 84 . . .
ReplyDeleteThese are all fantastic... Why do the ears continue to grow, though? Someone should look into that!
ReplyDeleteOh, God! πππ I loved each and every one of these, Debra! Unfortunately I can relate to them all. I can lift $100 worth of groceries with one hand too! Maybe with 2 fingers. Well, I refuse to admit I'm elderly. I'm a Dancing Queen ... nearly ei-ei-ghty! πππ
ReplyDeleteNice collection of jokes. And with pictures no less!
ReplyDeleteAll very good and all funny.
