Winter Solstice

Darkness deserves gratitude. It is the alleluia point at which we learn to understand that all growth does not take place in the sunlight.

--Joan Chittister, Uncommon Gratitude

As we celebrate the return of the Light, may we nevertheless continue to benefit from the peace and nurturing to be found in the Darkness.

Deep peace of the midwinter stars to you, my Solstice friends.

  13. Solstice Blessings and Salutations! The return of light is a welcomed event in many climates, but I have been rather enjoying the shorter days and cooler temperatures down here in the sub-tropics.

  19. "Deep peace of the midwinter stars" - Beautifully said, Debra! Darkness gives us quiet and calm, a time to go within. An opportunity to learn and grow from the deeper reaches of our selves.
Peace and stars to you and yours!

  23. Debz,

After watching the lunar eclipse the other night, and after reading this, you have filled me with such joy - my chest is full of enlightenment.

And yes, I'm tearing up as I write this.

The Universe is mighty, isn't it? We are SO fortunate that we belong to her.
