Gutterballs Update

Yes, I rolled many, many gutterballs. On both sides of the lane. The first game I only scored a measly 52 points. The second, 55. So hey, I improved! My Rare One bowled about double my score. A couple of the lesbo chix were decent bowlers but most of us were duffers. That didn't stop us from having a blast though!

And as a surprise, there was a real Valentine's theme to our day! The woman who wore the most red received a prize of a $25 Tim Horton's coffee 'n donuts card. And we each received a gel rose that lit up and flashed like a light show. Holy moly! Then later at the pizza place, there were Lindt chocolate hearts placed beside all our plates and a fresh pink long-stemmed rose for each of us. The woman who organized this bowling get-together really went above and beyond!

And yes, we were both stiff the next day but in the most unexpected spot. My Rare One and I had sore glutes, LOL! Guess we need to get in better shape for next year's bowlarama.

  1. I'm glad you had a blast, hun. I can't roll properly anymore ;-( I have a messed up shoulder that takes aways some of my coolness, but not all the fun. Yes, I look hilarious trying to with my (very non-dominant) left hand or when things are really bad, I just push it. And people laugh (the first "people" is usually me ;-)

  2. Psssh. We'll just pretend that the sore glutes were from "bowling."

  6. This sounds so fun! Love that the organizer did such sweet touches too. (I haven't bowled in about 20 years, so heaven knows what I'd do.)

  7. How fun was that! It's incredible how we get stiff after 40. I remember reading Little House on the Prairie and how they ate molassis sandwiches, and so I begged my mother for one and I hated it. Still don't like dark Molassis. Syrup would be good. ;)

  11. Why don't you ever post pics of these 'events'?

  12. Hi Kal -- I don't post specifically identifying personal info on my blog like my surname, photos of myself or those in my life, my occupation, my address (apart from "Edmonton") or anything like that. But with the exception of those omissions and everyone's "nom de plume," everything I write about on this blog is true. I do post photos taken by myself or My Rare One if they do not contain people.

  15. Kal, I look like Hailee Steinfeld, Selena Gomez and Michelle Trachtenberg all rolled into one. Except 40 years older and a lesbian.

  19. I got you beat on the horrible bowler thing. I took lessons as a kid and I was so nervous and my hands were sweaty; soooo when I swung my arm back the bowling ball went flying and hit the instructer behind me. I don't think I ever went back :^S
